“Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him.
Sag zu den Israeliten: Jeder Mann unter den Israeliten oder unter den Fremden in Israel, der eines seiner Kinder dem Moloch gibt, hat den Tod verdient. Die Bürger des Landes sollen ihn steinigen.
I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Molek, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.
Ich richte mein Angesicht gegen einen solchen und merze ihn aus seinem Volk aus, weil er eines seiner Kinder dem Moloch gegeben, dadurch mein Heiligtum verunreinigt und meinen heiligen Namen entweiht hat.
If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death,
Falls die Bürger des Landes ihre Augen diesem Mann gegenüber verschließen, wenn er eines seiner Kinder dem Moloch gibt, und ihn nicht töten,
I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek.
so richte ich mein Angesicht gegen ihn und seine Sippe und merze sie aus der Mitte ihres Volkes aus, ihn und alle, die mit ihm dem Moloch nachhuren.
“ ‘I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.
Gegen einen, der sich an Totenbeschwörer und Wahrsager wendet, um ihnen nachzuhuren, richte ich mein Angesicht und merze ihn aus seinem Volk aus.
“ ‘Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God.

Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord, who makes you holy.
Ihr sollt meine Satzungen bewahren und sie befolgen. Ich bin der HERR, der euch heiligt.
“ ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.
Jeder, der seinen Vater oder seine Mutter verflucht, hat den Tod verdient. Da er seinen Vater oder seine Mutter verflucht hat, soll sein Blut auf ihn kommen.
“ ‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife — with the wife of his neighbor — both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.
Ein Mann, der mit der Frau seines Nächsten die Ehe bricht, hat den Tod verdient, der Ehebrecher und die Ehebrecherin.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Ein Mann, der mit der Frau seines Vaters schläft, hat die Scham seines Vaters entblößt. Beide haben den Tod verdient; ihr Blut kommt auf sie selbst.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.
Schläft einer mit seiner Schwiegertochter, so haben beide den Tod verdient. Sie haben eine schändliche Tat begangen, ihr Blut kommt auf sie selbst.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Schläft einer mit einem Mann, wie man mit einer Frau schläft, dann haben sie eine Gräueltat begangen; beide haben den Tod verdient; ihr Blut kommt auf sie selbst.
“ ‘If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you.
Heiratet einer eine Frau und ihre Mutter, so ist das Blutschande. Ihn und die beiden Frauen soll man verbrennen, damit es keine Blutschande unter euch gibt.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he is to be put to death, and you must kill the animal.
Ein Mann, der einem Tier beiwohnt, hat den Tod verdient und das Tier sollt ihr töten.
“ ‘If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Nähert sich eine Frau einem Tier, um sich mit ihm zu begatten, dann sollst du die Frau und das Tier töten. Sie haben den Tod verdient; ihr Blut kommt auf sie selbst.
“ ‘If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They are to be publicly removed from their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.
Nimmt einer seine Schwester, eine Tochter seines Vaters oder eine Tochter seiner Mutter und sieht ihre Scham und sie sieht die seine, so ist es eine Schandtat. Sie sollen vor den Augen der Angehörigen ihres Volkes ausgemerzt werden. Er hat die Scham seiner Schwester entblößt; er muss die Folgen seiner Schuld tragen.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.
Ein Mann, der mit einer Frau während ihrer Regel schläft und ihre Scham entblößt, hat ihre Blutquelle aufgedeckt und sie hat ihre Blutquelle entblößt; daher sollen beide aus ihrem Volk ausgemerzt werden.
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with the sister of either your mother or your father, for that would dishonor a close relative; both of you would be held responsible.
Die Scham der Schwester deiner Mutter oder der Schwester deines Vaters sollst du nicht entblößen; denn wer seine eigene Verwandte entblößt, muss die Folgen seiner Schuld tragen.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.
Ein Mann, der mit seiner Tante schläft, hat die Scham seines Onkels entblößt. Sie müssen die Folgen ihrer Sünde tragen; sie sollen kinderlos sterben.
“ ‘If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.
Nimmt einer die Frau seines Bruders, so ist das Befleckung. Er hat die Scham seines Bruders entblößt; sie sollen kinderlos bleiben.
“ ‘Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.
Ihr sollt alle meine Satzungen und Rechtsentscheide bewahren und sie befolgen; dann wird euch das Land nicht ausspeien, in das ich euch führe, und ihr werdet dort wohnen können.
You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
Ihr sollt euch nicht nach den Satzungen der Nation richten, die ich vor euren Augen vertreibe; denn all diese Dinge haben sie getan, sodass es mich vor ihnen ekelte.
But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who has set you apart from the nations.
Daher habe ich euch gesagt: Ihr seid es, die ihren Boden in Besitz nehmen sollen. Ich bin es, der ihn euch zum Besitz geben wird, ein Land, in dem Milch und Honig fließen. Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott, der euch von diesen Völkern unterschieden hat.
“ ‘You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground — those that I have set apart as unclean for you.
So unterscheidet zwischen reinem und unreinem Vieh, zwischen unreinen und reinen Vögeln! Macht euch nicht selbst abscheulich mit diesen Tieren, diesen Vögeln, mit allem, was auf dem Boden kriecht. Ich habe es für euch als unrein unterschieden.
You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.
Seid mir geheiligt; denn ich, der HERR, bin heilig und ich habe euch von all diesen Völkern unterschieden, damit ihr mir gehört.
