Mir gehören die Gebiete von Gilead und Manasse, Ephraim ist der Helm auf meinem Kopf und Juda das Zepter in meiner Hand.

Das Land Moab muss mir dienen, von Edom ergreife ich Besitz. Und über das Land der Philister triumphiere ich als Sieger!«

Mein Gott, ich frage dich nun: Wer gibt mir Gewalt über die befestigte Stadt? Wer schenkt mir den Sieg über Edom?

Außer dir kommt ja niemand in Frage! Doch gerade du, Gott, hast uns verstoßen. Gerade du ziehst nicht mehr mit unseren Truppen in den Kampf.
