The Towns Given to the Levites
Then the leaders of the tribe of Levi came to consult with Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of the other tribes of Israel.

They came to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan and said, “The LORD commanded Moses to give us towns to live in and pasturelands for our livestock.”

So by the command of the LORD the people of Israel gave the Levites the following towns and pasturelands out of their own grants of land.

The following towns and pasturelands were allotted to the priests from the tribe of Dan: Eltekeh, Gibbethon,

The half-tribe of Manasseh allotted the following towns with their pasturelands to the priests: Taanach and Gath-rimmon — two towns.

So in all, ten towns with their pasturelands were given to the rest of the Kohathite clan.
Im Ganzen erhielten die Sippen der übrigen Nachkommen Kehats zehn Städte.

Dimnah, and Nahalal — four towns.

dazu vom Stamm Ruben Bezer mit seinen Weideflächen, Jahaz mit seinen Weideflächen,
Kedemoth, and Mephaath — four towns.
Kedemot mit seinen Weideflächen und Mefaat mit seinen Weideflächen: vier Städte;
From the tribe of Gad they received the following towns with their pasturelands: Ramoth in Gilead (a city of refuge for those who accidentally killed someone), Mahanaim,
vom Stamm Gad erhielten sie die Asylstadt für Totschläger, Ramot in Gilead mit seinen Weideflächen, ferner Mahanajim mit seinen Weideflächen,
Heshbon, and Jazer — four towns.
Heschbon mit seinen Weideflächen und Jaser mit seinen Weideflächen: zusammen vier Städte.
So in all, twelve towns were allotted to the clan of Merari.
Im Ganzen erhielten die Merariter entsprechend ihren Sippen, die unter den Sippen der Leviten noch übrig waren, als ihren Anteil zwölf Städte.
The total number of towns and pasturelands within Israelite territory given to the Levites came to forty-eight.
Die Gesamtanzahl der Levitenstädte mitten im Besitz der Israeliten betrug achtundvierzig, mit ihren Weideflächen.
Every one of these towns had pasturelands surrounding it.
Diese Städte bestanden jeweils aus der Stadt und den Weideflächen in ihrer Umgebung; so war es bei allen diesen Städten.
So the LORD gave to Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there.
So gab der HERR Israel das ganze Land, das er ihren Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert hatte. Sie nahmen es in Besitz und wohnten darin.
And the LORD gave them rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the LORD helped them conquer all their enemies.
Und der HERR verschaffte ihnen Ruhe ringsum, genauso, wie er es ihren Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert hatte. Keiner von all ihren Feinden konnte ihnen Widerstand leisten; alle ihre Feinde gab der HERR in ihre Hand.
