David King over All Israel
Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

“Previously, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and in. And the LORD said to you, ‘You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be a ruler over Israel.’”
Alle Ältesten Israels kamen zum König nach Hebron; der König David schloss mit ihnen in Hebron einen Vertrag vor dem HERRN und sie salbten David zum König von Israel.
So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them before the LORD at Hebron; then they anointed David king over Israel.
David war dreißig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte vierzig Jahre lang.
David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years.
In Hebron war er sieben Jahre und sechs Monate König von Juda und in Jerusalem war er dreiunddreißig Jahre König von ganz Israel und Juda.
At Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
Der König zog mit seinen Männern nach Jerusalem gegen die Jebusiter, die in dieser Gegend wohnten. Die Jebusiter aber sagten zu David: Du kommst hier nicht herein; vielmehr werden dich die Lahmen und die Blinden vertreiben. Das sollte besagen: David wird hier nicht eindringen.
Now the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, and they said to David, “You shall not come in here, but the blind and lame will turn you away”; thinking, “David cannot enter here.”
Dennoch eroberte David die Burg Zion; sie wurde die Stadt Davids.
Nevertheless, David captured the stronghold of Zion, that is the city of David.
David sagte an jenem Tag: Wer die Jebusiter schlagen will, muss den Zinnor erreichen, mit den Lahmen und den Blinden, die David verhasst sind. Daher sagt man: Ein Blinder und ein Lahmer kommt nicht ins Haus.
David said on that day, “Whoever would strike the Jebusites, let him reach the lame and the blind, who are hated by David’s soul, through the water tunnel.” Therefore they say, “The blind or the lame shall not come into the house.”
David ließ sich in der Burg nieder und nannte sie die Stadt Davids. Und David begann ringsum zu bauen, und zwar vom Millo an bis zur Burg.
So David lived in the stronghold and called it the city of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward.
David wurde immer mächtiger und der HERR, der Gott der Heerscharen, war mit ihm.
David became greater and greater, for the LORD God of hosts was with him.
Hiram, der König von Tyrus, schickte eine Gesandtschaft zu David und ließ ihm Zedernholz überbringen; auch Zimmerleute und Steinmetzen schickte er und sie bauten für David einen Palast.
Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees and carpenters and stonemasons; and they built a house for David.
So erkannte David, dass der HERR ihn als König von Israel bestätigt hatte und dass der HERR sein Königtum wegen seines Volkes Israel zu hohem Ansehen gebracht hatte.
And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.
Als David von Hebron gekommen war, nahm er sich noch Nebenfrauen, auch Frauen aus Jerusalem. So wurden ihm noch mehr Söhne und Töchter geboren.
Meanwhile David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David.
Das sind die Namen der Söhne, die ihm in Jerusalem geboren wurden: Schima, Schobab, Natan, Salomo,
Now these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
Die Philister hörten, dass man David zum König von Israel gesalbt hatte. Da zogen alle herauf, um David gefangen zu nehmen. David erfuhr davon und zog sich in eine Bergfestung zurück.
War with the Philistines
When the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek out David; and when David heard of it, he went down to the stronghold.

Now the Philistines came and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.
befragte David den HERRN; er sagte: Soll ich die Philister angreifen? Wirst du sie in meine Hand geben? Der HERR antwortete David: Greif sie an; denn ich werde die Philister bestimmt in deine Hand geben.
Then David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You give them into my hand?” And the LORD said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.”
Da zog David nach Baal-Perazim. Dort schlug er die Philister und sagte: Der HERR hat die Reihen meiner Feinde vor meinen Augen durchbrochen, wie Wasser durchbricht. Deshalb nennt man jenen Ort Baal-Perazim, Herr der Durchbrüche.
So David came to Baal-perazim and defeated them there; and he said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me like the breakthrough of waters.” Therefore he named that place Baal-perazim.
Die Philister ließen dort ihre Götterbilder zurück, sodass David und seine Männer sie mitnehmen konnten.
They abandoned their idols there, so David and his men carried them away.
Doch die Philister zogen noch einmal herauf und streiften in der Rafaïterebene umher.
Now the Philistines came up once again and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.
David befragte wieder den HERRN und der HERR antwortete ihm: Zieh nicht hinauf, umgeh sie in ihrem Rücken und komm von den Baka-Bäumen her an sie heran!
When David inquired of the LORD, He said, “You shall not go directly up; circle around behind them and come at them in front of the balsam trees.
Wenn du dann in den Wipfeln der Baka-Bäume ein Geräusch wie von Schritten hörst, dann beeil dich; denn dann geht der HERR vor dir her, um das Heer der Philister zu schlagen.
“It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then you shall act promptly, for then the LORD will have gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
