sagte er zu dem Propheten Natan: Ich wohne in einem Haus aus Zedernholz, die Lade Gottes aber wohnt in einem Zelt.
that the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within tent curtains.”
Natan antwortete dem König: Geh nur und tu alles, was du im Herzen hast; denn der HERR ist mit dir.
Nathan said to the king, “Go, do all that is in your mind, for the LORD is with you.”
Aber in jener Nacht erging das Wort des HERRN an Natan:
But in the same night the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,
Geh zu meinem Knecht David und sag zu ihm: So spricht der HERR: Du willst mir ein Haus bauen, damit ich darin wohne?
“Go and say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the LORD, “Are you the one who should build Me a house to dwell in?
Seit dem Tag, als ich die Israeliten aus Ägypten heraufgeführt habe, habe ich bis heute nie in einem Haus gewohnt, sondern bin in einer Zeltwohnung umhergezogen.
“For I have not dwelt in a house since the day I brought up the sons of Israel from Egypt, even to this day; but I have been moving about in a tent, even in a tabernacle.
Habe ich in der Zeit, als ich bei den Israeliten von Ort zu Ort zog, jemals zu einem der Stämme Israels, die ich als Hirten über mein Volk Israel eingesetzt hatte, ein Wort gesagt und sie gefragt: Warum habt ihr mir kein Haus aus Zedernholz gebaut?
“Wherever I have gone with all the sons of Israel, did I speak a word with one of the tribes of Israel, which I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’”’
Sag also jetzt meinem Knecht David: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Ich habe dich von der Weide und von der Herde weggeholt, damit du Fürst über mein Volk Israel wirst,
God’s Covenant with David
“Now therefore, thus you shall say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, “I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel.
und ich bin überall mit dir gewesen, wohin du auch gegangen bist. Ich habe alle deine Feinde vor deinen Augen vernichtet und ich werde dir einen großen Namen machen, der dem Namen der Großen auf der Erde gleich ist.
“I have been with you wherever you have gone and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make you a great name, like the names of the great men who are on the earth.
Ich werde meinem Volk Israel einen Platz zuweisen und es einpflanzen, damit es an seinem Ort wohnen kann und sich nicht mehr ängstigen muss und schlechte Menschen es nicht mehr unterdrücken wie früher
“I will also appoint a place for My people Israel and will plant them, that they may live in their own place and not be disturbed again, nor will the wicked afflict them any more as formerly,
und auch von dem Tag an, an dem ich Richter in meinem Volk Israel eingesetzt habe. Ich verschaffe dir Ruhe vor allen deinen Feinden. Nun verkündet dir der HERR, dass der HERR dir ein Haus bauen wird.
even from the day that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel; and I will give you rest from all your enemies. The LORD also declares to you that the LORD will make a house for you.
Wenn deine Tage erfüllt sind und du dich zu deinen Vätern legst, werde ich deinen leiblichen Sohn als deinen Nachfolger einsetzen und seinem Königtum Bestand verleihen.
“When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom.
Er wird für meinen Namen ein Haus bauen und ich werde seinem Königsthron ewigen Bestand verleihen.
“He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
Ich werde für ihn Vater sein und er wird für mich Sohn sein. Wenn er sich verfehlt, werde ich ihn nach Menschenart mit Ruten und mit Schlägen züchtigen.
“I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men,
Nie wird sich meine Huld von ihm entfernen, wie ich sie von Saul entfernt habe, den ich vor dir entfernt habe.
but My lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you.
Dein Haus und dein Königtum werden vor dir auf ewig bestehen bleiben; dein Thron wird auf ewig Bestand haben.
“Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”’”
Natan sprach zu David genauso, wie es gesagt und offenbart worden war.
In accordance with all these words and all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.
Da ging König David hin und setzte sich vor dem HERRN nieder und sagte: Wer bin ich, Herr und GOTT, und was ist mein Haus, dass du mich bis hierher geführt hast?
David’s Prayer
Then David the king went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, “Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that You have brought me this far?
Weil das in deinen Augen noch zu wenig war, Herr und GOTT, hast du dem Haus deines Knechtes sogar Zusagen für die ferne Zukunft gemacht. Ist das eine Weisung, wie sie einem Menschen zukommt, mein Herr und GOTT?
“And yet this was insignificant in Your eyes, O Lord GOD, for You have spoken also of the house of Your servant concerning the distant future. And this is the custom of man, O Lord GOD.
Was soll David noch weiter zu dir sagen? Du kennst deinen Knecht, Herr und GOTT.
“Again what more can David say to You? For You know Your servant, O Lord GOD!
Um deines Wortes willen und nach der Absicht deines Herzens hast du alle diese großen Taten getan und deinem Knecht offenbart.
“For the sake of Your word, and according to Your own heart, You have done all this greatness to let Your servant know.
Darum bist du groß, Herr und GOTT. Ja, keiner ist dir gleich und außer dir gibt es keinen Gott nach allem, was wir mit unseren Ohren gehört haben.
“For this reason You are great, O Lord GOD; for there is none like You, and there is no God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
Welches andere Volk auf der Erde ist wie dein Volk Israel? Wo wäre ein Gott hingegangen, um ein Volk für sich als sein Volk freizukaufen und ihm einen Namen zu machen und für dieses Volk große und erstaunliche Taten zu vollbringen, so wie du ganze Völker und ihre Götter vertrieben hast vor den Augen deines Volkes, das du dir von den Ägyptern freigekauft hast?
“And what one nation on the earth is like Your people Israel, whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people and to make a name for Himself, and to do a great thing for You and awesome things for Your land, before Your people whom You have redeemed for Yourself from Egypt, from nations and their gods?
Du hast Israel auf ewig zu deinem Volk bestimmt und du, HERR, bist sein Gott geworden.
“For You have established for Yourself Your people Israel as Your own people forever, and You, O LORD, have become their God.
Doch nun, HERR und Gott, verleih dem Wort, das du über deinen Knecht und über sein Haus gesprochen hast, für immer Geltung und tu, was du gesagt hast!
“Now therefore, O LORD God, the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant and his house, confirm it forever, and do as You have spoken,
Dann wird dein Name groß sein für ewige Zeiten und man wird sagen: Der HERR der Heerscharen ist Israels Gott! und das Haus deines Knechtes David wird vor deinen Augen Bestand haben.
that Your name may be magnified forever, by saying, ‘The LORD of hosts is God over Israel’; and may the house of Your servant David be established before You.
Denn du, HERR der Heerscharen, Gott Israels, hast deinem Knecht offenbart: Ich will dir ein Haus bauen. Darum fand dein Knecht den Mut, so zu dir zu beten:
“For You, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have made a revelation to Your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house’; therefore Your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to You.
Ja, Herr und GOTT, du bist der einzige Gott und deine Worte sind wahr. Du hast deinem Knecht ein solches Glück zugesagt.
“Now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are truth, and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.
So segne jetzt gnädig das Haus deines Knechtes, damit es ewig vor deinen Augen Bestand hat. Denn du, Herr und GOTT, hast es versprochen und mit deinem Segen wird das Haus deines Knechtes für immer gesegnet sein.
“Now therefore, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You. For You, O Lord GOD, have spoken; and with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”
