Dann rief ich dort am Fluss bei Ahawa ein Fasten aus; so wollten wir uns vor unserem Gott beugen und von ihm eine glückliche Reise erbitten für uns, unsere Kleinen und unsere ganze Habe.

Und ich ließ daselbst am Wasser bei Ahava ein Fasten ausrufen, daß wir uns demütigten vor unserm Gott, zu suchen von ihm einen richtigen Weg für uns und unsre Kinder und alle unsre Habe.

Am Kanal bei Ahawa forderte ich die Versammelten auf, zu fasten und vor unserem Gott auf die Knie zu gehen. Wir wollten ihn bitten, uns und unsere Kinder mit unserem Hab und Gut auf der Reise zu beschützen.
