Ich rufe zu Gott, ich schreie, ich rufe zu Gott, dass er mich hört.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
Am Tag meiner Not suchte ich den Herrn; unablässig erhob ich nachts meine Hände, meine Seele ließ sich nicht trösten.
I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
Denke ich an Gott, muss ich seufzen; sinne ich nach, dann will mein Geist verzagen. [Sela]
Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
Offen gehalten hast du die Lider meiner Augen; ich war aufgewühlt und konnte nicht reden.
I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
Ich sann nach über die Tage der Vorzeit, über längst vergangene Jahre.
I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
Ich denke an mein Saitenspiel, während der Nacht sinne ich nach in meinem Herzen, es grübelt mein Geist.
Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
Wird der Herr denn auf ewig verstoßen und niemals mehr erweisen seine Gunst?
Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?
Hat seine Huld für immer ein Ende? Hat aufgehört sein Wort für alle Geschlechter?
Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
Hat Gott vergessen, dass er gnädig ist? Oder hat er im Zorn sein Erbarmen verschlossen? [Sela]
And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
Da sagte ich: Das ist mein Schmerz, dass die Rechte des Höchsten so anders handelt?
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
Ich denke an die Taten des HERRN, ja, ich will denken an deine früheren Wunder.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
Ich erwäge all deine Taten und will nachsinnen über dein Tun.
Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
Gott, dein Weg ist heilig. Welche Gottheit ist groß wie Gott?
Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
Du bist die Gottheit, die Wunder tut, du hast deine Macht unter den Völkern kundgetan.
Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
Du hast mit starkem Arm dein Volk erlöst, die Kinder Jakobs und Josefs. [Sela]
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
Die Wasser sahen dich, Gott, die Wasser sahen dich und bebten, ja, die Urfluten gerieten in Wallung.
The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
Die Wolken gossen Wasser aus, das Gewölk ließ den Donner dröhnen, auch deine Pfeile flogen dahin.
The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
Dröhnend rollte dein Donner, Blitze erhellten den Erdkreis, die Erde bebte und wankte.
Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
