Die Söhne Aarons, Nadab und Abihu, nahmen jeder seine Räucherpfanne. Sie legten Feuer auf, taten Räucherwerk darauf und brachten vor dem HERRN ein unrechtmäßiges Feuer dar, eines, das er ihnen nicht geboten hatte.
Da ging vom HERRN ein Feuer aus, das sie verzehrte, und sie starben vor dem HERRN.
And fire came out from before the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.
Da sagte Mose zu Aaron: Das ist es, was der HERR meinte, als er sprach: An denen, die mir nahe sind, erweise ich mich heilig und vor dem ganzen Volk zeige ich mich herrlich. Aaron schwieg.
Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Among those who are near me I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” And Aaron held his peace.
Mose rief Mischaël und Elizafan, die Söhne von Aarons Onkel Usiël, und sagte zu ihnen: Kommt her und tragt eure Brüder vom Heiligtum weg, vor das Lager hinaus!
And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Come near; carry your brothers away from the front of the sanctuary and out of the camp.”
Sie traten heran und trugen sie in ihren Gewändern vor das Lager hinaus, wie es Mose gesagt hatte.
So they came near and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said.
Zu Aaron und seinen Söhnen Eleasar und Itamar sagte Mose: Lasst euer Haar nicht lose herunterhängen und zerreißt nicht eure Kleider, damit ihr nicht sterbt und der HERR über die ganze Gemeinde zürnt. Eure Brüder, das ganze Haus Israel, sollen über den Brand weinen, den der HERR entfacht hat.
And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his sons, “Do not let the hair of your heads hang loose, and do not tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning that the Lord has kindled.
Verlasst nicht den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes, sonst müsst ihr sterben; denn das Salböl des HERRN ist auf euch. Sie taten, was Mose gesagt hatte.
And do not go outside the entrance of the tent of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you.” And they did according to the word of Moses.
Weder Wein noch Bier dürft ihr, du und deine Söhne, trinken, wenn ihr zum Offenbarungszelt kommt, damit ihr nicht sterbt. Das gelte bei euch als ewige Satzung für eure Generationen.
“Drink no wine or strong drink, you or your sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.
Ihr sollt zwischen heilig und profan, zwischen unrein und rein unterscheiden
You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean,
und die Israeliten sollt ihr in allen Gesetzen unterweisen, die der HERR euch durch Mose verkündet hat.
and you are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes that the Lord has spoken to them by Moses.”
Mose sagte zu Aaron und seinen übrig gebliebenen Söhnen Eleasar und Itamar: Nehmt das Speiseopfer, das von den Feueropfern des HERRN übrig bleibt, esst davon die ungesäuerten Brote neben dem Altar, denn es ist etwas Hochheiliges.
Moses spoke to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his surviving sons: “Take the grain offering that is left of the Lord’s food offerings, and eat it unleavened beside the altar, for it is most holy.
An einem heiligen Ort sollt ihr es essen, denn es ist das, was dir und deinen Söhnen von den Feueropfern des HERRN als der bestimmte Anteil zusteht; so ist es mir nämlich geboten worden.
You shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your due and your sons’ due, from the Lord’s food offerings, for so I am commanded.
Die Brust des Erhebungsopfers und die Schenkelkeule des Hebeopfers sollt ihr, du, deine Söhne und deine Töchter, an einem reinen Ort essen, denn sie werden dir und deinen Nachkommen als der bestimmte Anteil von den Heilsopfern der Israeliten gegeben.
But the breast that is waved and the thigh that is contributed you shall eat in a clean place, you and your sons and your daughters with you, for they are given as your due and your sons’ due from the sacrifices of the peace offerings of the people of Israel.
Die Schenkelkeule des Hebeopfers und die Brust des Erhebungsopfers, die auf den Fettstücken der Feueropfer sind, sollen sie als Erhebungsopfer vor dem HERRN emporheben; sie sollen dir und deinen Kindern als ewiges Gesetz gehören, wie es der HERR geboten hat.
The thigh that is contributed and the breast that is waved they shall bring with the food offerings of the fat pieces to wave for a wave offering before the Lord, and it shall be yours and your sons’ with you as a due forever, as the Lord has commanded.”
Mose erkundigte sich nach dem Bock des Sündopfer und siehe da, er war verbrannt. Er geriet über Eleasar und Itamar, die übrig gebliebenen Söhne Aarons, in Zorn und sagte:
Now Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and behold, it was burned up! And he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the surviving sons of Aaron, saying,
Warum habt ihr das Sündopfer nicht am heiligen Ort gegessen? Es ist etwas Hochheiliges und es wurde euch gegeben, damit ihr die Schuld von der Gemeinde wegnehmt, um für sie vor dem HERRN Versöhnung zu erwirken.
“Why have you not eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, since it is a thing most holy and has been given to you that you may bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord?
Sein Blut wurde ja nicht in das Innere des Heiligtums gebracht; das Fleisch hättet ihr im Heiligtum essen sollen, wie ich es geboten habe.
Behold, its blood was not brought into the inner part of the sanctuary. You certainly ought to have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.”
Aaron antwortete Mose: Siehe, heute haben sie ihr Sünd- und ihr Brandopfer vor dem HERRN dargebracht und doch hat mich so etwas getroffen. Wenn ich heute das Sündopfer gegessen hätte, wäre das in den Augen des HERRN gut gewesen?
And Aaron said to Moses, “Behold, today they have offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord, and yet such things as these have happened to me! If I had eaten the sin offering today, would the Lord have approved?”
