Jesus Is the Vine — Followers Are Branches
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
Jede Rebe an mir, die keine Frucht bringt, schneidet er ab und jede Rebe, die Frucht bringt, reinigt er, damit sie mehr Frucht bringt.
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
Ihr seid schon rein kraft des Wortes, das ich zu euch gesagt habe.
“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Bleibt in mir und ich bleibe in euch. Wie die Rebe aus sich keine Frucht bringen kann, sondern nur, wenn sie am Weinstock bleibt, so auch ihr, wenn ihr nicht in mir bleibt.
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
Ich bin der Weinstock, ihr seid die Reben. Wer in mir bleibt und in wem ich bleibe, der bringt reiche Frucht; denn getrennt von mir könnt ihr nichts vollbringen.
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
Wer nicht in mir bleibt, wird wie die Rebe weggeworfen und er verdorrt. Man sammelt die Reben, wirft sie ins Feuer und sie verbrennen.
“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
Wenn ihr in mir bleibt und meine Worte in euch bleiben, dann bittet um alles, was ihr wollt: Ihr werdet es erhalten.
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Mein Vater wird dadurch verherrlicht, dass ihr reiche Frucht bringt und meine Jünger werdet.
“My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
Wie mich der Vater geliebt hat, so habe auch ich euch geliebt. Bleibt in meiner Liebe!
“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
Wenn ihr meine Gebote haltet, werdet ihr in meiner Liebe bleiben, so wie ich die Gebote meines Vaters gehalten habe und in seiner Liebe bleibe.
“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
Dies habe ich euch gesagt, damit meine Freude in euch ist und damit eure Freude vollkommen wird.
“These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
Das ist mein Gebot, dass ihr einander liebt, so wie ich euch geliebt habe.
Disciples’ Relation to Each Other
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
Es gibt keine größere Liebe, als wenn einer sein Leben für seine Freunde hingibt.
“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
Ihr seid meine Freunde, wenn ihr tut, was ich euch auftrage.
“You are My friends if you do what I command you.
Ich nenne euch nicht mehr Knechte; denn der Knecht weiß nicht, was sein Herr tut. Vielmehr habe ich euch Freunde genannt; denn ich habe euch alles mitgeteilt, was ich von meinem Vater gehört habe.
“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
Nicht ihr habt mich erwählt, sondern ich habe euch erwählt und dazu bestimmt, dass ihr euch aufmacht und Frucht bringt und dass eure Frucht bleibt. Dann wird euch der Vater alles geben, um was ihr ihn in meinem Namen bittet.
“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
Dies trage ich euch auf, dass ihr einander liebt.
“This I command you, that you love one another.
Wenn die Welt euch hasst, dann wisst, dass sie mich schon vor euch gehasst hat.
Disciples’ Relation to the World
“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
Wenn ihr von der Welt stammen würdet, würde die Welt euch als ihr Eigentum lieben. Aber weil ihr nicht von der Welt stammt, sondern weil ich euch aus der Welt erwählt habe, darum hasst euch die Welt.
“If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.
Denkt an das Wort, das ich euch gesagt habe: Der Sklave ist nicht größer als sein Herr. Wenn sie mich verfolgt haben, werden sie auch euch verfolgen; wenn sie an meinem Wort festgehalten haben, werden sie auch an eurem Wort festhalten.
“Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
Doch dies alles werden sie euch um meines Namens willen antun; denn sie kennen den nicht, der mich gesandt hat.
“But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.
Wenn ich nicht gekommen wäre und nicht zu ihnen gesprochen hätte, wären sie ohne Sünde; jetzt aber haben sie keine Entschuldigung für ihre Sünde.
“If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
Wenn ich bei ihnen nicht die Werke vollbracht hätte, die kein anderer vollbracht hat, wären sie ohne Sünde. Jetzt aber haben sie die Werke gesehen und doch haben sie mich und meinen Vater gehasst.
“If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.
Aber das Wort sollte sich erfüllen, das in ihrem Gesetz geschrieben steht: Ohne Grund haben sie mich gehasst.
“But they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, ‘THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE.’
Wenn aber der Beistand kommt, den ich euch vom Vater aus senden werde, der Geist der Wahrheit, der vom Vater ausgeht, dann wird er Zeugnis für mich ablegen.
“When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,
