Die Israeliten unter 20 Jahren nahm David nicht in die Volkslisten auf. Denn der HERR hatte ihm versprochen, Israel so zahlreich werden zu lassen wie die Sterne am Himmel.

Aber David nahm nicht die Zahl derer, die von 20 Jahren und darunter waren; denn der HERR hatte verheißen, Israel zu mehren wie die Sterne am Himmel.

Die Zahl derer, die noch nicht zwanzig Jahre alt waren, hatte David nicht aufnehmen lassen; denn der HERR hatte versprochen, dass er Israel zahlreich werden lasse wie die Sterne des Himmels.
