Der HERR ließ eine Hungersnot ins Land kommen, und die Vorräte an Brot gingen schnell zu Ende.

Er sorgte dafür, dass die Ägypter sein Volk zu hassen begannen. Am Ende behandelten sie es heimtückisch und gemein.

Auf Gottes Weisung kam Ungeziefer, ganze Schwärme von Stechmücken bedeckten das Land.

Statt Regen prasselte Hagel vom Himmel, feurige Blitze schlugen überall ein.

Auf seinen Befehl rückten Heuschrecken heran, riesige Schwärme, die nicht zu zählen waren.

Gott gab seinem Volk Schutz hinter einer Wolke, und in der Nacht erleuchtete ein Feuer ihnen den Weg.

Als sie erbittert nach Speise verlangten, da ließ er Wachteln in ihr Lager kommen, und mit Brot vom Himmel machte er sie satt.
