Lass darum das Grab bis zum dritten Tag bewachen, sonst stehlen seine Jünger noch den Leichnam und erzählen jedem, Jesus sei von den Toten auferstanden. Das aber wäre ein noch größerer Betrug.«

Darum befiehl, daß man das Grab verwahre bis an den dritten Tag, auf daß nicht seine Jünger kommen und stehlen ihn und sagen zum Volk: Er ist auferstanden von den Toten, und werde der letzte Betrug ärger denn der erste.

Gib also den Befehl, dass das Grab bis zum dritten Tag bewacht wird! Sonst könnten seine Jünger kommen, ihn stehlen und dem Volk sagen: Er ist von den Toten auferstanden. Und dieser letzte Betrug wäre noch schlimmer als alles zuvor.
