Also kamen alle Ältesten Israels zum König gen Hebron. Und David machte einen Bund mit ihnen zu Hebron vor dem HERRN. Und sie salbten David zum König über Israel nach dem Wort des HERRN durch Samuel.

Als alle Sippenoberhäupter von Israel in Hebron versammelt waren, schloss David mit ihnen einen Bund, und sie riefen den HERRN als Zeugen an. Sie salbten David und setzten ihn zum König über Israel ein. So erfüllte sich, was Samuel im Auftrag des HERRN vorausgesagt hatte.
