Die Nebenarme werden zu abgestandenen, stinkenden Tümpeln, und die Kanäle versanden. Schilf und Binsen verdorren,

Die Kanäle stinken, seicht und verödet sind die Nilarme Ägyptens, Rohr und Schilf verwelken.
