Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia zum andernmal, da er noch im Vorhof des Gefängnisses verschlossen war, und sprach:

So spricht der HERR, der solches macht, tut und ausrichtet; HERR ist sein Name:
Rufe mich an, so will ich dir antworten und will dir anzeigen große und gewaltige Dinge, die du nicht weißt.
Denn so spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, von den Häusern dieser Stadt und von den Häusern der Könige Juda’s, welche abgebrochen sind, Bollwerke zu machen zur Wehr,
“For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the houses of the kings of Judah, which have been pulled down to fortify against the siege mounds and the sword:
und von denen, so hereingekommen sind, wider die Chaldäer zu streiten, daß sie diese füllen müssen mit den Leichnamen der Menschen, welche ich in meinem Zorn und Grimm erschlagen will; denn ich habe mein Angesicht vor dieser Stadt verborgen um all ihrer Bosheit willen:
‘They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but only to fill their places with the dead bodies of men whom I will slay in My anger and My fury, all for whose wickedness I have hidden My face from this city.
Siehe, ich will sie heilen und gesund machen und will ihnen Frieden und Treue die Fülle gewähren.
Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.
Denn ich will das Gefängnis Juda’s und das Gefängnis Israels wenden und will sie bauen wie von Anfang
And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first.
und will sie reinigen von aller Missetat, damit sie wider mich gesündigt haben, und will ihnen vergeben alle Missetaten, damit sie wider mich gesündigt und übertreten haben.
I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.
Und das soll mir ein fröhlicher Name, Ruhm und Preis sein unter allen Heiden auf Erden, wenn sie hören werden all das Gute, das ich ihnen tue. Und sie werden sich verwundern und entsetzen über all dem Guten und über all dem Frieden, den ich ihnen geben will.
Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.’
So spricht der HERR: An diesem Ort, davon ihr sagt: Er ist wüst, weil weder Leute noch Vieh in den Städten Juda’s und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem bleiben, die so verwüstet sind, daß weder Leute noch Bürger noch Vieh darin sind,
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Again there shall be heard in this place — of which you say, “It is desolate, without man and without beast” — in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,
wird man dennoch wiederum hören Geschrei von Freude und Wonne, die Stimme des Bräutigams und der Braut und die Stimme derer, so da sagen: Danket dem HERRN Zebaoth, denn er ist freundlich, und seine Güte währet ewiglich,« wenn sie Dankopfer bringen zum Hause des HERRN. Denn ich will des Landes Gefängnis wenden wie von Anfang, spricht der HERR.
the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say:
“Praise the Lord of hosts,
For the Lord is good,
For His mercy endures forever” —
and of those who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,’ says the Lord.

So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: An diesem Ort, der so wüst ist, daß weder Leute noch Vieh darin sind, und in allen seinen Städten werden dennoch wiederum Wohnungen sein der Hirten, die da Herden weiden.
“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In this place which is desolate, without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there shall again be a dwelling place of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
In Städten auf den Gebirgen und in Städten in Gründen und in Städten gegen Mittag, im Lande Benjamin und um Jerusalem her und in Städten Juda’s sollen dennoch wiederum die Herden gezählt aus und ein gehen, spricht der HERR.
In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, in the cities of the South, in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, the flocks shall again pass under the hands of him who counts them,’ says the Lord.
Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich das gnädige Wort erwecken will, welches ich dem Hause Israel und dem Hause Juda geredet habe.
‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah:
In denselben Tagen und zu derselben Zeit will ich dem David ein gerechtes Gewächs aufgehen lassen, und er soll Recht und Gerechtigkeit anrichten auf Erden.
‘In those days and at that time
I will cause to grow up to David
A Branch of righteousness;
He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

Zu derselben Zeit soll Juda geholfen werden und Jerusalem sicher wohnen, und man wird sie nennen: Der HERR unsre Gerechtigkeit.
Denn so spricht der HERR: Es soll nimmermehr fehlen, es soll einer von David sitzen auf dem Stuhl des Hauses Israel.
“For thus says the Lord: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;
Desgleichen soll’s nimmermehr fehlen, es sollen Priester und Leviten sein vor mir, die da Brandopfer tun und Speisopfer anzünden und Opfer schlachten ewiglich.
Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia und sprach:
The Permanence of God’s Covenant
And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
So spricht der HERR: Wenn mein Bund aufhören wird mit Tag und Nacht, daß nicht Tag und Nacht sei zu seiner Zeit,
“Thus says the Lord: ‘If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season,
so wird auch mein Bund aufhören mit meinem Knechte David, daß er nicht einen Sohn habe zum König auf seinem Stuhl, und mit den Leviten und Priestern, meinen Dienern.
then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.
Wie man des Himmels Heer nicht zählen noch den Sand am Meer nicht messen kann, also will ich mehren den Samen Davids, meines Knechtes, und die Leviten, die mir dienen.
As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.’ ”
Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu Jeremia und sprach:
Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
Hast du nicht gesehen, was dies Volk redet und spricht: »Hat doch der HERR auch die zwei Geschlechter verworfen, welche er auserwählt hatte»; und lästern mein Volk, als sollten sie nicht mehr mein Volk sein.
“Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, ‘The two families which the Lord has chosen, He has also cast them off’? Thus they have despised My people, as if they should no more be a nation before them.
So spricht der HERR: Halte ich meinen Bund nicht Tag und Nacht noch die Ordnungen des Himmels und der Erde,
“Thus says the Lord: ‘If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth,
so will ich auch verwerfen den Samen Jakobs und Davids, meines Knechtes, daß ich nicht aus ihrem Samen nehme, die da herrschen über den Samen Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs. Denn ich will ihr Gefängnis wenden und mich über sie erbarmen.
then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them.’ ”
