Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones
The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones.

Und er führte mich allenthalben dadurch. Und siehe, des Gebeins lag sehr viel auf dem Feld; und siehe, sie waren sehr verdorrt.
He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry.
Und er sprach zu mir: Du Menschenkind, meinst du auch, daß diese Gebeine wieder lebendig werden? Und ich sprach: HERR HERR, das weißt du wohl.
He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”
Und er sprach zu mir: Weissage von diesen Gebeinen und sprich zu ihnen: Ihr verdorrten Gebeine, höret des HERRN Wort!
Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’
So spricht der HERR HERR von diesen Gebeinen: Siehe, ich will einen Odem in euch bringen, daß ihr sollt lebendig werden.
“Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.
Ich will euch Adern geben und Fleisch lassen über euch wachsen und euch mit Haut überziehen und will euch Odem geben, daß ihr wieder lebendig werdet, und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.
‘I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the LORD.’”
Und ich weissagte, wie mir befohlen war; und siehe, da rauschte es, als ich weissagte, und siehe, es regte sich, und die Gebeine kamen wieder zusammen, ein jegliches zu seinem Gebein.
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
Und ich sah, und siehe, es wuchsen Adern und Fleisch darauf, und sie wurden mit Haut überzogen; es war aber noch kein Odem in ihnen.
And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.
Und er sprach zu mir: Weissage zum Winde; weissage, du Menschenkind, und sprich zum Wind: So spricht der HERR HERR: Wind, komm herzu aus den vier Winden und blase diese Getöteten an, daß sie wieder lebendig werden!
Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.”’”
Und ich weissagte, wie er mir befohlen hatte. Da kam Odem in sie, und sie wurden wieder lebendig und richteten sich auf ihre Füße. Und ihrer war ein sehr großes Heer.
So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Und er sprach zu mir: Du Menschenkind, diese Gebeine sind das ganze Haus Israel. Siehe, jetzt sprechen sie: Unsre Gebeine sind verdorrt, und unsre Hoffnung ist verloren, und es ist aus mit uns.
The Vision Explained
Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.’
Darum weissage und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will eure Gräber auftun und will euch, mein Volk, aus denselben herausholen und euch ins Land Israel bringen;
“Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.
und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich eure Gräber geöffnet und euch, mein Volk, aus denselben gebracht habe.
“Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people.
Und ich will meinen Geist in euch geben, daß ihr wieder leben sollt, und will euch in euer Land setzen, und sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin. Ich rede es und tue es auch, spricht der HERR.
“I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken and done it,” declares the LORD.’”
Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
Reunion of Judah and Israel
The word of the LORD came again to me saying,
Du Menschenkind, nimm dir ein Holz und schreibe darauf: Des Juda und der Kinder Israel, seiner Zugetanen. Und nimm noch ein Holz und schreibe darauf: Des Joseph, nämlich das Holz Ephraims, und des ganzen Hauses Israel, seiner Zugetanen.
“And you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’
Und tue eins zum andern zusammen, daß es ein Holz werde in deiner Hand.
“Then join them for yourself one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.
So nun dein Volk zu dir wird sagen und sprechen: Willst du uns nicht zeigen, was du damit meinst?
“When the sons of your people speak to you saying, ‘Will you not declare to us what you mean by these?’
so sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will das Holz Josephs, welches ist in Ephraims Hand, nehmen mit samt seinen Zugetanen, den Stämmen Israels, und will sie zu dem Holz Juda’s tun und ein Holz daraus machen, und sollen eins in meiner Hand sein.
say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’
Und sollst also die Hölzer, darauf du geschrieben hast, in deiner Hand halten, daß sie zusehen,
“The sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes.
und sollst zu ihnen sagen: So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will die Kinder Israel holen aus den Heiden, dahin sie gezogen sind, und will sie allenthalben sammeln und will sie wieder in ihr Land bringen
“Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;
und will ein Volk aus ihnen machen im Lande auf den Bergen Israels, und sie sollen allesamt einen König haben und sollen nicht mehr zwei Völker noch in zwei Königreiche zerteilt sein;
and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations and no longer be divided into two kingdoms.
sollen sich auch nicht mehr verunreinigen mit ihren Götzen und Greueln und allerlei Sünden. Ich will ihnen heraushelfen aus allen Örtern, da sie gesündigt haben, und will sie reinigen; und sie sollen mein Volk sein, und ich will ihr Gott sein.
“They will no longer defile themselves with their idols, or with their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God.
Und mein Knecht David soll ihr König und ihrer aller einiger Hirte sein. Und sie sollen wandeln in meinen Rechten und meine Gebote halten und darnach tun.
The Davidic Kingdom
“My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them.
Und sie sollen wieder in dem Lande wohnen, das ich meinem Knecht Jakob gegeben habe, darin eure Väter gewohnt haben. Sie und ihre Kinder und Kindeskinder sollen darin wohnen ewiglich, und mein Knecht David soll ewiglich ihr Fürst sein.
“They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever.
Und ich will mit ihnen einen Bund des Friedens machen, das soll ein ewiger Bund sein mit ihnen; und will sie erhalten und mehren, und mein Heiligtum soll unter ihnen sein ewiglich.
“I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever.
Und ich will unter ihnen wohnen und will ihr Gott sein, und sie sollen mein Volk sein,
“My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.
