Oben auf den Bergen opfern sie, und auf den Hügeln räuchern sie, unter den Eichen, Linden und Buchen; denn die haben feinen Schatten. Darum werden eure Töchter auch zu Huren und eure Bräute zu Ehebrecherinnen werden.

Oben auf den Hügeln bringen sie Räucheropfer dar und halten Opfermahlzeiten, sie feiern im wohltuenden Schatten von Eichen, Pappeln und Terebinthen. Darum werden ihre Töchter und Schwiegertöchter zu Huren und Ehebrecherinnen.

Sie feiern Schlachtopfer auf den Höhen der Berge, auf den Hügeln bringen sie Räucheropfer dar, unter Terebinthen, Storaxbäumen und Eichen — ihr Schatten ist ja so angenehm. Darum treiben eure Töchter Unzucht und eure Schwiegertöchter Ehebruch.
