In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.
Mir macht es allerdings gar nichts aus, wenn ihr oder ein menschliches Gericht über mich urteilt; ich urteile auch nicht über mich selbst.
But to me it is a very small thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court; in fact, I do not even examine myself.
Ich bin mir zwar keiner Schuld bewusst, doch bin ich dadurch noch nicht gerecht gesprochen; der Herr ist es, der über mich urteilt.
For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord.
Richtet also nicht vor der Zeit; wartet, bis der Herr kommt, der das im Dunkeln Verborgene ans Licht bringen und die Absichten der Herzen aufdecken wird! Dann wird jeder sein Lob von Gott erhalten.
Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.
Brüder und Schwestern, ich habe das auf mich und Apollos bezogen, und zwar euretwegen, damit ihr an uns lernt: Nicht über das hinaus, was in der Schrift steht, dass also keiner zugunsten des einen und zum Nachteil des andern sich wichtig machen darf.
Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written, so that no one of you will become arrogant in behalf of one against the other.
Denn wer räumt dir einen Vorrang ein? Und was hast du, das du nicht empfangen hättest? Wenn du es aber empfangen hast, warum rühmst du dich, als hättest du es nicht empfangen?
For who regards you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
Ihr seid schon satt, ihr seid schon reich geworden, ohne uns seid ihr zur Herrschaft gelangt. Wäret ihr doch nur zur Herrschaft gelangt! Dann könnten auch wir mit euch zusammen herrschen.
You are already filled, you have already become rich, you have become kings without us; and indeed, I wish that you had become kings so that we also might reign with you.
Ich glaube nämlich, Gott hat uns Apostel auf den letzten Platz gestellt, wie Todgeweihte; denn wir sind zum Schauspiel geworden für die Welt, für Engel und Menschen.
For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are prudent in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are distinguished, but we are without honor.
Bis zur Stunde leiden wir Hunger und Durst und Blöße und werden mit Fäusten geschlagen und sind heimatlos.
To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed, and are roughly treated, and are homeless;
Wir mühen uns ab, indem wir mit eigenen Händen arbeiten; wir werden beschimpft und segnen; wir werden verfolgt und halten stand;
and we toil, working with our own hands; when we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure;
wir werden geschmäht und reden gut zu. Wir sind sozusagen der Unrat der Welt geworden, der Abschaum von allen bis heute.
when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.
Nicht um euch zu beschämen, schreibe ich das, sondern um euch als meine geliebten Kinder zu ermahnen.
I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.
Hättet ihr nämlich auch unzählige Erzieher in Christus, so doch nicht viele Väter. Denn in Christus Jesus habe ich euch durch das Evangelium gezeugt.
For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
Darum ermahne ich euch: Haltet euch an mein Vorbild!
Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me.
Deswegen habe ich Timotheus zu euch geschickt, mein geliebtes und treues Kind im Herrn. Er wird euch erinnern an meine Wege in Christus Jesus, wie ich sie überall in jeder Gemeinde lehre.
For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church.
In der Annahme, dass ich nicht selber zu euch komme, haben sich einige wichtig gemacht.
Now some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you.
Ich werde aber bald zu euch kommen, wenn der Herr will. Dann werde ich diese Wichtigtuer nicht auf ihre Worte prüfen, sondern auf ihre Kraft.
But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant but their power.
Denn nicht in Worten erweist sich die Herrschaft Gottes, sondern in der Kraft.
For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.
