Und der HERR sagte zu Samuel: Hör auf ihre Stimme und setz ihnen einen König ein! Da sagte Samuel zu den Israeliten: Geht heim, jeder in seine Stadt!

Der HERR aber sprach zu Samuel: Gehorche ihrer Stimme und mache ihnen einen König. Und Samuel sprach zu den Männern Israels: Gehet hin, ein jeglicher in seine Stadt.

»Erfülle ihre Forderung«, antwortete der HERR, »und setz einen König über sie ein!« Danach verabschiedete Samuel sich von den Männern und schickte sie nach Hause.
