Hoffnung für Alle
Von jetzt an sollen sie den Priestern beim Dienst im Tempel des HERRN helfen. Sie sollen dafür sorgen, dass die Vorhöfe und Kammern in Ordnung gehalten werden und die geweihten Gefäße und Werkzeuge für den Tempeldienst gereinigt sind. Auch für andere Dienste im Haus Gottes sind sie verantwortlich:

daß sie stehen sollten unter der Hand der Kinder Aaron, zu dienen im Hause des HERRN in den Vorhöfen und Kammern und zur Reinigung von allerlei Heiligem und zu allem Werk des Amts im Hause Gottes

Ihre Stellung im Dienst des Hauses des HERRN an der Seite der Söhne Aarons verpflichtet sie vielmehr zur Aufsicht über die Höfe und Kammern, zur Reinigung alles Heiligen, zum Dienst im Haus Gottes,
