Wenn sich die Israeliten beim Heiligtum des HERRN versammeln, darf niemand unter ihnen sein, der verletzte Hoden hat oder dessen Glied abgeschnitten ist.
“No one born of a forbidden union may enter the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of his descendants may enter the assembly of the Lord.
Einer, dessen Eltern nicht nach dem Gesetz verheiratet waren, muss der Gemeinde ebenfalls fernbleiben. Auch seine Nachkommen dürfen nicht dazugehören, selbst zehn Generationen später nicht.

Für immer ausgeschlossen sind auch alle, die ammonitische oder moabitische Vorfahren haben, selbst wenn sie seit zehn Generationen in Israel leben.

Denn diese Völker haben euch nicht herzlich aufgenommen; sie haben euch nicht mit Brot und Wasser versorgt, als ihr aus Ägypten kamt. Im Gegenteil: Sie haben Bileam, den Sohn von Beor, aus Petor in Mesopotamien geholt und ihm Geld gegeben, damit er euch verflucht.
But the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loved you.
Aber der HERR, euer Gott, wollte nicht auf Bileam hören, sondern hat aus Liebe zu euch den Fluch in Segen verwandelt.
You shall not seek their peace or their prosperity all your days forever.
Darum verbündet euch nicht mit diesen Völkern und setzt euch auch in Zukunft nie für sie ein!
“You shall not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were a sojourner in his land.
Die Edomiter aber sollt ihr nicht ablehnen. Sie sind euer Brudervolk. Stellt euch auch nicht gegen die Ägypter, denn ihr habt einmal in ihrem Land gelebt.

Wer von ihnen in der dritten Generation bei euch wohnt, darf dazukommen, wenn ihr euch beim Heiligtum des HERRN versammelt.
Uncleanness in the Camp
“When you are encamped against your enemies, then you shall keep yourself from every evil thing.

Wenn ihr Krieg gegen eure Feinde führt, dann achtet darauf, dass es nichts in eurem Lager gibt, was euch in den Augen des Herrn unrein macht.
“If any man among you becomes unclean because of a nocturnal emission, then he shall go outside the camp. He shall not come inside the camp,
Wenn ein Mann nachts im Schlaf einen Samenerguss hatte, ist er unrein und muss das Lager verlassen. Er darf es am nächsten Tag nicht betreten.
but when evening comes, he shall bathe himself in water, and as the sun sets, he may come inside the camp.
Erst bei Sonnenuntergang kann er zurückkommen, wenn er sich vorher gewaschen hat.
“You shall have a place outside the camp, and you shall go out to it.
Außerhalb des Lagers sollt ihr einen Platz haben, wo ihr austreten könnt.
And you shall have a trowel with your tools, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up your excrement.
Wenn jemand dort sein Geschäft erledigt, soll er vorher ein Loch graben und es danach wieder mit Erde füllen. Nehmt dazu in eurem Gepäck eine kleine Schaufel mit.
Because the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.
Der HERR, euer Gott, ist mitten unter euch in eurem Lager. Er beschützt euch und gibt euch den Sieg über eure Feinde. Deshalb muss euer Lager heilig sein. Wenn der Herr dort etwas sieht, was er verabscheut, wendet er sich von euch ab.
Wenn ein entflohener Sklave aus dem Ausland bei euch Schutz sucht, dann liefert ihn nicht an seinen Herrn aus!
He shall dwell with you, in your midst, in the place that he shall choose within one of your towns, wherever it suits him. You shall not wrong him.
Nehmt ihn bei euch auf! Er soll für sich entscheiden, in welcher Stadt er bleiben will. Lasst ihn dort wohnen, wo es ihm gefällt, und beutet ihn nicht aus!
“None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, and none of the sons of Israel shall be a cult prostitute.
Keine Frau und kein Mann aus eurem Volk soll im Namen eines Gottes der Prostitution nachgehen.
Was Frauen oder Männer damit verdient haben, darf niemals als Opfergabe in das Haus des HERRN, eures Gottes, gebracht werden, um ein Gelübde zu erfüllen. Denn so etwas verabscheut der HERR.
“You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.
Wenn ihr jemandem aus eurem Volk Geld, Lebensmittel oder irgendetwas anderes leiht, dann nehmt keine Zinsen!
You may charge a foreigner interest, but you may not charge your brother interest, that the Lord your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
Nur von Ausländern dürft ihr Zinsen verlangen, nicht von Israeliten. Wenn ihr euch daran haltet, wird der HERR, euer Gott, euch segnen und eure Arbeit gelingen lassen in dem Land, das ihr in Besitz nehmt.
“If you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin.
Wenn ihr dem HERRN, eurem Gott, etwas versprochen habt, dann haltet es auf jeden Fall ein! Er wird es mit Sicherheit von euch fordern! Verweigert ihr es ihm, so ladet ihr Schuld auf euch.
But if you refrain from vowing, you will not be guilty of sin.
Ihm gar nichts zu versprechen, ist keine Sünde.
You shall be careful to do what has passed your lips, for you have voluntarily vowed to the Lord your God what you have promised with your mouth.
Doch wenn ihr freiwillig ein Gelübde abgelegt habt, dann müsst ihr es auf jeden Fall erfüllen. Was ihr versprochen habt, müsst ihr halten.
“If you go into your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, as many as you wish, but you shall not put any in your bag.
Wenn ihr an einem Weinberg vorbeikommt, dürft ihr dort so viele Trauben essen, wie ihr wollt, bis ihr satt seid. Ihr sollt aber nichts in ein Gefäß sammeln!
If you go into your neighbor’s standing grain, you may pluck the ears with your hand, but you shall not put a sickle to your neighbor’s standing grain.
