Also soll Babel, das schönste unter den Königreichen, die herrliche Pracht der Chaldäer, umgekehrt werden von Gott wie Sodom und Gomorra,

Babylon, heute noch die glanzvollste Stadt aller Königreiche, der ganze Stolz der Chaldäer, wird restlos zerstört. Ihr wird es genauso ergehen wie damals den Städten Sodom und Gomorra, die Gott dem Erdboden gleichmachte.

Und Babel, die Zierde der Königreiche, die hochmütige Pracht der Chaldäer, wird wie Sodom und Gomorra sein, als Gott sie zerstörte.
