Aber von Gottes Gnade bin ich, was ich bin. Und seine Gnade an mir ist nicht vergeblich gewesen, sondern ich habe viel mehr gearbeitet denn sie alle; nicht aber ich, sondern Gottes Gnade, die mit mir ist.

Alles, was ich jetzt bin, bin ich allein durch Gottes Gnade. Und seine Gnade hat er mir nicht vergeblich geschenkt. Ich habe mich mehr als alle anderen Apostel eingesetzt, aber was ich erreicht habe, war nicht meine eigene Leistung, sondern Gott selbst hat das alles in seiner Gnade bewirkt.

Doch durch Gottes Gnade bin ich, was ich bin, und sein gnädiges Handeln an mir ist nicht ohne Wirkung geblieben. Mehr als sie alle habe ich mich abgemüht — nicht ich, sondern die Gnade Gottes zusammen mit mir.
