Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Als der Prophet Natan zu ihm kam, nachdem er zu Batseba gegangen war.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Gott, sei mir gnädig nach deiner Huld, tilge meine Frevel nach deinem reichen Erbarmen!
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
Wasch meine Schuld von mir ab und mach mich rein von meiner Sünde!
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Denn ich erkenne meine bösen Taten, meine Sünde steht mir immer vor Augen.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Gegen dich allein habe ich gesündigt, ich habe getan, was böse ist in deinen Augen. So behältst du recht mit deinem Urteilsspruch, lauter stehst du da als Richter.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Siehe, in Schuld bin ich geboren und in Sünde hat mich meine Mutter empfangen.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Siehe, an Treue im Innersten hast du Gefallen, im Verborgenen lehrst du mich Weisheit.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Entsündige mich mit Ysop, dann werde ich rein; wasche mich und ich werde weißer als Schnee!
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Lass mich Entzücken und Freude hören! Jubeln sollen die Glieder, die du zerschlagen hast.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Verbirg dein Angesicht vor meinen Sünden, tilge alle Schuld, mit der ich beladen bin!
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Erschaffe mir, Gott, ein reines Herz und einen festen Geist erneuere in meinem Innern!
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Verwirf mich nicht vor deinem Angesicht, deinen heiligen Geist nimm nicht von mir!
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
Gib mir wieder die Freude deines Heils, rüste mich aus mit dem Geist der Großmut!
O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
Ich will die Frevler deine Wege lehren und die Sünder kehren um zu dir.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
Befreie mich von Blutschuld, Gott, du Gott meines Heils, dann wird meine Zunge jubeln über deine Gerechtigkeit!
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Herr, öffne meine Lippen, damit mein Mund dein Lob verkünde!
Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
