Im vierhundertachtzigsten Jahr nach dem Auszug der Israeliten aus Ägypten, im vierten Jahr der Regierung Salomos über Israel, im Monat Siw, das ist der zweite Monat, begann er das Haus des HERRN zu bauen.
Das Haus, das König Salomo für den HERRN baute, war sechzig Ellen lang, zwanzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch.
Die Vorhalle vor dem Hauptraum des Hauses war zwanzig Ellen breit, entsprechend der Breite des Hauses, und zehn Ellen tief in der Längsrichtung des Hauses.
Er machte für das Haus Fenster mit Rahmen und Gittern.
He made narrow windows high up in the temple walls.
An die Wände des Hauses, und zwar an die Wände des Hauptraums und des hochheiligen Ortes, legte er ringsum einen Anbau mit Kammern.
Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.

“As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.

Er täfelte seine Innenwände mit Zedernholz aus; vom Fußboden bis zu den Balken der Decke ließ er eine Holzvertäfelung anbringen. Den Fußboden belegte er mit Zypressenholz.
He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of juniper.
Zwanzig Ellen vor der Rückseite des Hauses errichtete er vom Fußboden bis zum Gebälk eine Wand aus Zedernholz und schuf so einen hochheiligen Ort, das Allerheiligste.
He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.

So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
In der Gotteswohnung ließ er zwei Kerubim aus Olivenholz anfertigen. Ihre Höhe betrug zehn Ellen.
For the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim out of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
Fünf Ellen maß der eine Flügel des Kerubs und fünf Ellen sein anderer Flügel. Von einem Flügelende bis zum anderen waren es zehn Ellen.
One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits — ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip.
Auch der zweite Kerub war zehn Ellen hoch. Beide hatten gleiches Maß und gleiche Gestalt.
The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape.

und im elften Jahr, im Monat Bul, das ist der achte Monat, wurde das Haus mit all seinem Zubehör vollendet, ganz so, wie es geplant war. Sieben Jahre hatte man an ihm gebaut.
In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.
