Der HERR sprach zu Mose: Sag deinem Bruder Aaron, er soll nicht zu jeder beliebigen Zeit das Heiligtum hinter dem Vorhang vor der Sühneplatte der Lade betreten. Dann wird er nicht sterben, wenn ich über der Sühneplatte in einer Wolke erscheine.
The LORD said to Moses:
“Tell your brother Aaron that he shall not enter at any time into the holy place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, or he will die; for I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat.

Aaron darf nur so in das Heiligtum kommen: mit einem Jungstier für ein Sündopfer und einem Widder für ein Brandopfer.
“Aaron shall enter the holy place with this: with a bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.
Ein geweihtes Leinengewand soll er anhaben, leinene Beinkleider tragen, sich mit einem Leinengürtel gürten und um den Kopf einen Leinenturban binden. Das sind heilige Gewänder; deshalb soll er seinen ganzen Körper in Wasser baden und sie erst dann anlegen.
“He shall put on the holy linen tunic, and the linen undergarments shall be next to his body, and he shall be girded with the linen sash and attired with the linen turban (these are holy garments). Then he shall bathe his body in water and put them on.
Von der Gemeinde der Israeliten soll er zwei Ziegenböcke für ein Sündopfer und einen Widder für ein Brandopfer nehmen.
“He shall take from the congregation of the sons of Israel two male goats for a sin offering and one ram for a burnt offering.
Hat er den Jungstier für seine eigene Sünde dargebracht und für sich und sein Haus Versöhnung erwirkt,
“Then Aaron shall offer the bull for the sin offering which is for himself, that he may make atonement for himself and for his household.
dann soll Aaron die beiden Ziegenböcke nehmen und sie vor dem HERRN am Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes aufstellen.
“He shall take the two goats and present them before the LORD at the doorway of the tent of meeting.
Für die beiden Böcke soll er Lose kennzeichnen, ein Los für den HERRN und ein Los für Asasel.
“Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats, one lot for the LORD and the other lot for the scapegoat.
Aaron soll den Bock, für den das Los für den HERRN herauskommt, herbeiführen und ihn als Sündopfer darbringen.
“Then Aaron shall offer the goat on which the lot for the LORD fell, and make it a sin offering.
Der Bock, für den das Los für Asasel herauskommt, soll lebend vor den HERRN gestellt werden, um für ihn Sühne zu erwirken, damit er für Asasel in die Wüste geschickt werde.
“But the goat on which the lot for the scapegoat fell shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make atonement upon it, to send it into the wilderness as the scapegoat.
Aaron soll den Jungstier für sein eigenes Sündopfer herbeibringen lassen, um für sich und sein Haus Versöhnung zu erwirken, und diesen Jungstier des Sündopfers für sich schlachten.
“Then Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering which is for himself and make atonement for himself and for his household, and he shall slaughter the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.
Dann soll er eine Räucherpfanne voll glühender Kohlen vom Altar, der vor dem HERRN steht, und zwei Handvoll zerstoßenen duftenden Räucherwerks nehmen. Er soll alles hinter den Vorhang bringen
“He shall take a firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before the LORD and two handfuls of finely ground sweet incense, and bring it inside the veil.
und das Räucherwerk auf das Feuer vor dem HERRN tun; die Wolke des Räucherwerks soll die Sühneplatte über dem Bundeszeugnis einhüllen, damit er nicht sterben muss.
“He shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the ark of the testimony, otherwise he will die.
Dann soll er vom Blut des Jungstiers nehmen und es mit seinem Finger gegen die Vorderseite der Sühneplatte an der Ostseite spritzen; auch vor die Sühneplatte soll er mit seinem Finger siebenmal etwas Blut spritzen.
“Moreover, he shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; also in front of the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.
Nachher soll er den Bock schlachten, der als Sündopfer für das Volk bestimmt ist, und sein Blut hinter den Vorhang tragen. Er soll es mit diesem Blut ebenso machen wie mit dem Blut des Jungstiers und es auf die Sühneplatte und vor die Sühneplatte spritzen.
“Then he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering which is for the people, and bring its blood inside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat.
So soll er für das Heiligtum von den Unreinheiten der Israeliten und von all ihren Freveltaten einschließlich all ihrer Sünden Sühne erwirken und so soll er mit dem Offenbarungszelt verfahren, das bei ihnen inmitten ihrer Unreinheiten seinen Sitz hat.
“He shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the impurities of the sons of Israel and because of their transgressions in regard to all their sins; and thus he shall do for the tent of meeting which abides with them in the midst of their impurities.
Kein Mensch darf im Offenbarungszelt sein, wenn er eintritt, um im Heiligtum die Versöhnung zu erwirken, bis er es wieder verlässt. Hat er für sich, sein Haus und die ganze Versammlung Israels Versöhnung erwirkt,
“When he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, no one shall be in the tent of meeting until he comes out, that he may make atonement for himself and for his household and for all the assembly of Israel.
so soll er zum Altar vor dem HERRN hinausgehen und für ihn Sühne erwirken. Er soll etwas Blut des Jungstiers und des Bockes nehmen und es auf die Hörner rings um den Altar tun.
“Then he shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and of the blood of the goat and put it on the horns of the altar on all sides.
Etwas von diesem Blut soll er mit seinem Finger siebenmal auf den Altar spritzen. So soll er ihn von den Unreinheiten der Israeliten reinigen und ihn heiligen.
“With his finger he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it seven times and cleanse it, and from the impurities of the sons of Israel consecrate it.
Hat er es vollendet, für das Heiligtum, das Offenbarungszelt und den Altar Sühne zu erwirken, soll er den lebenden Bock herbringen lassen.
“When he finishes atoning for the holy place and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall offer the live goat.
Aaron soll seine beiden Hände auf den Kopf des lebenden Bockes legen und über ihm alle Schuld der Israeliten und alle ihre Frevel mitsamt all ihrer Sünden bekennen. Nachdem er sie so auf den Kopf des Bockes geladen hat, soll er ihn durch einen bereitstehenden Mann in die Wüste schicken
“Then Aaron shall lay both of his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel and all their transgressions in regard to all their sins; and he shall lay them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who stands in readiness.
und der Bock soll alle ihre Sünden mit sich in die Einöde tragen. Hat er den Bock in die Wüste geschickt,
“The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to a solitary land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.
dann soll Aaron wieder in das Offenbarungszelt gehen, die Leinengewänder, die er beim Betreten des Heiligtums angelegt hat, ablegen und sie dort verwahren.
“Then Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting and take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there.
Er soll seinen Körper in Wasser an einem heiligen Ort baden, wieder seine Kleider anlegen und hinausgehen, um sein Brandopfer und das des Volkes darzubringen. Er soll für sich und das Volk Versöhnung erwirken
“He shall bathe his body with water in a holy place and put on his clothes, and come forth and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people and make atonement for himself and for the people.
und das Fett des Sündopfers auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen lassen.
“Then he shall offer up in smoke the fat of the sin offering on the altar.
Der Mann, der den Bock für Asasel weggeschickt hat, muss seine Kleider waschen, seinen Körper in Wasser baden und darf danach wieder in das Lager kommen.
“The one who released the goat as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes and bathe his body with water; then afterward he shall come into the camp.
Den Jungstier und den Bock, die man als Sündopfer dargebracht und deren Blut man hereingebracht hat, um im Heiligtum Versöhnung zu erwirken, soll man aus dem Lager hinausschaffen und ihr Fell, ihr Fleisch und ihren Mageninhalt im Feuer verbrennen.
“But the bull of the sin offering and the goat of the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be taken outside the camp, and they shall burn their hides, their flesh, and their refuse in the fire.
Wer sie verbrannt hat, muss seine Kleider waschen, den Körper in Wasser baden und darf danach wieder ins Lager kommen.
“Then the one who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his body with water, then afterward he shall come into the camp.
Folgendes soll euch als ewige Satzung gelten: Im siebten Monat, am zehnten Tag des Monats, sollt ihr euch Enthaltung auferlegen und keinerlei Arbeit tun, der Einheimische und ebenso der Fremde, der in eurer Mitte lebt.
An Annual Atonement
“This shall be a permanent statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your souls and not do any work, whether the native, or the alien who sojourns among you;
Denn an diesem Tag erwirkt man für euch Versöhnung, um euch zu reinigen. Vor dem HERRN werdet ihr von allen euren Sünden wieder rein.
for it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; you will be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
Dieser Tag ist für euch ein vollständiger Ruhetag und ihr sollt euch Enthaltung auferlegen. Das gelte als ewige Satzung.
“It is to be a sabbath of solemn rest for you, that you may humble your souls; it is a permanent statute.
Der Priester, den man gesalbt und dem man die Hand gefüllt hat, anstelle seines Vaters Priester zu sein, soll die Versöhnung erwirken. Er soll die Leinengewänder, die heiligen Gewänder, anlegen.
“So the priest who is anointed and ordained to serve as priest in his father’s place shall make atonement: he shall thus put on the linen garments, the holy garments,
Er soll für das geweihte Heiligtum, das Offenbarungszelt und den Altar Sühne erwirken; dann soll er für die Priester und das ganze Volk der Versammlung Versöhnung erwirken.
and make atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar. He shall also make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.
Das soll für euch als ewige Satzung gelten: Einmal im Jahr soll für die Israeliten von allen ihren Sünden Versöhnung erwirkt werden. Und man tat, wie es der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.
“Now you shall have this as a permanent statute, to make atonement for the sons of Israel for all their sins once every year.” And just as the LORD had commanded Moses, so he did.
