Petrus aber stand auf und lief zum Grab. Er beugte sich vor, sah aber nur die Leinenbinden. Dann ging er nach Hause, voll Verwunderung über das, was geschehen war.

Petrus aber stand auf und lief zum Grabe und bückte sich hinein und sah die leinenen Tücher allein liegen; und ging davon, und es nahm ihn wunder, wie es zuginge.

Doch Petrus sprang auf und lief zum Grab. Als er hineinschaute, sah er außer den Leinentüchern nichts. Verwundert ging er in die Stadt zurück.
