Im Bergland von Samaria legst du wieder Weinberge an. Die Weinbauern bepflanzen sie und können ihre Früchte genießen.

Ja, ich bringe sie aus dem Land im Norden zurück, ich hole sie vom Ende der Erde herbei. Blinde und Gelähmte sind unter ihnen, schwangere Frauen und solche, die gerade erst ein Kind geboren haben. Sie alle kehren als große Volksgemeinschaft in ihr Land zurück.

Die Mädchen tanzen im Reigen, die jungen Männer und die Alten feiern miteinander. Denn ich verwandle ihre Trauer in Freude, ich tröste sie und mache sie wieder froh nach all ihrem Leid.

Den Priestern gebe ich das beste Fleisch der Opfertiere zu essen; mein Volk soll satt werden von meinen guten Gaben. Darauf gebe ich, der HERR, mein Wort.«
So spricht der HERR: »Schreie ertönen in der Stadt Rama, überall hört man bitteres Klagen. Rahel weint um ihre Kinder, sie will sich nicht trösten lassen, denn ihre Kinder wurden ihr genommen.
Mercy on Ephraim
Thus says the Lord:
“A voice was heard in Ramah,
Lamentation and bitter weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted for her children,
Because they are no more.”

Doch ich, der HERR, sage: Du brauchst nicht mehr zu weinen und zu klagen! Wisch dir die Tränen ab, denn ich werde dich für das belohnen, was du für deine Nachkommen getan hast: Sie kehren aus dem Land ihrer Feinde zurück.

Du hast eine Zukunft! Du darfst neue Hoffnung schöpfen! Denn deine Kinder kommen in ihre Heimat zurück. Darauf kannst du dich verlassen.

Ich habe genau gehört, wie Ephraim stöhnt: ›Herr, du hast mich gestraft, ich musste geschlagen werden wie ein junges Rind, das sich nicht ans Joch gewöhnen will! Doch jetzt bring mich zurück zu dir, lass mich umkehren, denn du bist der HERR, mein Gott.

Ich komme zu dir zurück, und jetzt packt mich die Reue über das, was ich getan habe. Ich erkenne meine Sünden, sie tun mir leid. Ich schäme mich, und mein Gewissen quält mich. Die Schuld meiner Jugend hat mich in Verruf gebracht.‹

Ich, der HERR, antworte: Ephraim ist mein geliebter Sohn, mein Lieblingskind! Immer wenn ich ihm Strafe androhe, muss ich doch in Liebe an ihn denken. Es bricht mir das Herz, ich muss Erbarmen mit ihm haben!
Ihr Israeliten, stellt euch Wegweiser auf, kennzeichnet die Straßen! Erinnert euch, auf welchem Weg ihr gekommen seid, und dann kehrt in eure Städte zurück!
Wie lange willst du noch umherirren, mein abtrünniges Volk? Wenn du wieder in deinem Land bist, lasse ich etwas ganz Neues geschehen: Du wirst bei mir bleiben wie eine Frau bei ihrem Mann.«

Alle Menschen werden im Land Juda und seinen Städten friedlich zusammenleben: Bauern und Nomaden, die mit ihren Herden umherziehen.

Da wachte ich auf und sah mich um, ich war erfrischt und gestärkt.

Der HERR sprach: »Es kommt die Zeit, in der ich Israel und Juda wieder mit Menschen und Tieren bevölkern werde.
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.
Damals habe ich sie entwurzelt und ausgerissen, ja, ich selbst habe dafür gesorgt, dass sie vernichtet werden. Doch nun werde ich sie wieder einpflanzen und dafür Sorge tragen, dass sie gedeihen. Das verspreche ich, der HERR!

Dann wird man nicht mehr das Sprichwort anführen: ›Die Väter haben saure Trauben gegessen, und den Söhnen werden die Zähne davon stumpf.‹

‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge.’

Nein, wer saure Trauben isst, wird selbst stumpfe Zähne bekommen; jeder wird für seine eigene Schuld sterben.«

»So spricht der HERR: Es kommt die Zeit, in der ich mit dem Volk Israel und dem Volk von Juda einen neuen Bund schließe.
A New Covenant

Er ist nicht mit dem zu vergleichen, den ich damals mit ihren Vorfahren schloss, als ich sie bei der Hand nahm und aus Ägypten befreite. Diesen Bund haben sie gebrochen, obwohl ich doch ihr Herr war!
Der neue Bund, den ich dann mit dem Volk Israel schließe, wird ganz anders aussehen: Ich schreibe mein Gesetz in ihr Herz, es soll ihr ganzes Denken und Handeln bestimmen. Ich werde ihr Gott sein, und sie werden mein Volk sein.
Niemand muss dann den anderen noch belehren, keiner braucht seinem Bruder mehr zu sagen: ›Erkenne doch den HERRN!‹ Denn alle — vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten — werden erkennen, wer ich bin. Ich vergebe ihnen ihre Schuld und denke nicht mehr an ihre Sünden. Mein Wort gilt!

Ich, der HERR, habe die Sonne dazu bestimmt, den Tag zu erhellen, den Mond und die Sterne, damit sie nachts leuchten. Sie alle folgen einer festen Ordnung. Ich wühle das Meer auf und lasse seine Wellen tosen. ›Der HERR, der allmächtige Gott‹ — so lautet mein Name!

Ich sage: So wie diese feste Ordnung für immer besteht, wird auch Israel für immer mein Volk sein.

From before Me, says the Lord,

From being a nation before Me forever.”

Und wie man die Weite des Himmels und die Fundamente der Erde niemals ermessen kann, so werde ich Israel nicht verstoßen — trotz allem, was es getan hat. Darauf gebe ich, der HERR, mein Wort!«

»So spricht der HERR: Es kommt die Zeit, in der man die Stadt Jerusalem für mich wieder aufbauen wird. Ihre Mauer wird vom Hananelturm bis zum Ecktor verlaufen,
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the city shall be built for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.
von dort geradeaus weiter bis zum Hügel Gareb und im Bogen bis nach Goa.
The surveyor’s line shall again extend straight forward over the hill Gareb; then it shall turn toward Goath.
Das ganze Tal, in dem man die Leichen verbrennt und die Opferasche ausschüttet, außerdem die Terrassenfelder bis zum Bach Kidron und zur Ecke des Rosstors im Osten — alles wird dann einzig und allein mir gehören. Nie mehr wird man die Stadt abreißen und zerstören.«
