Als Jesus sich schon der Stelle näherte, wo der Weg vom Ölberg nach Jerusalem hinunterführt, brach die ganze Menge der Jünger in Jubel aus. Sie dankten Gott für die vielen Wunder, die sie miterlebt hatten. Laut sangen sie:

Und da er nahe hinzukam und zog den Ölberg herab, fing an der ganze Haufe seiner Jünger, fröhlich Gott zu loben mit lauter Stimme über alle Taten, die sie gesehen hatten,

Als er sich schon dem Abhang des Ölbergs näherte, begann die Schar der Jünger freudig und mit lauter Stimme Gott zu loben wegen all der Machttaten, die sie gesehen hatten.
