Christ Is Our Advocate
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

Er ist die Sühne für unsere Sünden, aber nicht nur für unsere Sünden, sondern auch für die der ganzen Welt.
and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
Und daran erkennen wir, dass wir ihn erkannt haben: wenn wir seine Gebote halten.
By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
Wer sagt: Ich habe ihn erkannt!, aber seine Gebote nicht hält, ist ein Lügner und in dem ist die Wahrheit nicht.
The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
Wer sich aber an sein Wort hält, in dem ist die Gottesliebe wahrhaft vollendet; daran erkennen wir, dass wir in ihm sind.
but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:
Wer sagt, dass er in ihm bleibt, muss auch einen Lebenswandel führen, wie er ihn geführt hat.
the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
Geliebte, ich schreibe euch kein neues Gebot, sondern ein altes Gebot, das ihr von Anfang an hattet. Das alte Gebot ist das Wort, das ihr gehört habt.
Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard.
Wiederum schreibe ich euch ein neues Gebot, was wahr ist in ihm und in euch, weil die Finsternis vergeht und das wahre Licht schon leuchtet.
On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining.
Wer sagt, er sei im Licht, aber seinen Bruder hasst, ist noch in der Finsternis.
The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now.
Wer seinen Bruder liebt, bleibt im Licht und in ihm gibt es keinen Anstoß.
The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
Wer aber seinen Bruder hasst, ist in der Finsternis und wandelt in der Finsternis und weiß nicht, wohin er geht; denn die Finsternis hat seine Augen blind gemacht.
But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
Ich schreibe euch, ihr Kinder: Euch sind die Sünden vergeben um seines Namens willen.
I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake.
Ich schreibe euch, ihr Väter: Ihr habt den erkannt, der von Anfang an ist. Ich schreibe euch, ihr jungen Männer: Ihr habt den Bösen besiegt.
I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father.
Ich habe euch geschrieben, ihr Kinder: Ihr habt den Vater erkannt. Ich habe euch geschrieben, ihr Väter: Ihr habt den erkannt, der von Anfang an ist. Ich habe euch geschrieben, ihr jungen Männer: Ihr seid stark und das Wort Gottes bleibt in euch und ihr habt den Bösen besiegt.
I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
Liebt nicht die Welt und was in der Welt ist! Wer die Welt liebt, in dem ist die Liebe des Vaters nicht.
Do Not Love the World
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Denn alles, was in der Welt ist, die Begierde des Fleisches, die Begierde der Augen und das Prahlen mit dem Besitz, ist nicht vom Vater, sondern von der Welt.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
Die Welt vergeht und ihre Begierde; wer den Willen Gottes tut, bleibt in Ewigkeit.
The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
Meine Kinder, die letzte Stunde ist da. Ihr habt gehört, dass der Antichrist kommt, und jetzt sind viele Antichriste aufgetreten. Daran erkennen wir, dass die letzte Stunde da ist.
Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.
Sie sind aus unserer Mitte gekommen, aber sie haben nicht zu uns gehört; denn wenn sie zu uns gehörten, wären sie bei uns geblieben. Es sollte aber offenbar werden, dass sie alle nicht zu uns gehören.
They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.
Ihr habt die Salbung von dem, der heilig ist, und ihr alle wisst es.
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.
Ich schreibe euch nicht, weil ihr die Wahrheit nicht kennt, sondern weil ihr sie kennt und weil keine Lüge von der Wahrheit stammt.
I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth.
Wer ist der Lügner, wenn nicht der, der leugnet, dass Jesus der Christus ist? Das ist der Antichrist, der den Vater und den Sohn leugnet.
Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.
Jeder, der den Sohn leugnet, hat auch den Vater nicht; wer den Sohn bekennt, hat auch den Vater.
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.
Für euch gilt: Was ihr von Anfang an gehört habt, soll in euch bleiben; wenn in euch bleibt, was ihr von Anfang an gehört habt, dann werdet auch ihr im Sohn und im Vater bleiben.
As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
Und das ist die Verheißung, die er uns verheißen hat: das ewige Leben.
The Promise Is Eternal Life
This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life.
Dies habe ich euch über die geschrieben, die euch in die Irre führen.
These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.
Was euch betrifft, so bleibt die Salbung, die ihr von ihm empfangen habt, in euch und ihr braucht euch von niemandem belehren zu lassen; wie euch vielmehr seine Salbung über alles belehrt, so ist es auch wahr und keine Lüge. Und wie er euch belehrt hat, so bleibt ihr in ihm.
As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.
Und jetzt, meine Kinder, bleibt in ihm, damit wir, wenn er erscheint, Zuversicht haben und bei seinem Kommen von ihm nicht beschämt werden!
Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.
