Der HERR sprach zu Jeremia:
Message at the Temple Gate
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
»Stell dich an den Eingang des Tempels und verkünde dort diese Botschaft: Ihr Bewohner von Juda, hört, was der HERR euch sagt! Ihr kommt hierher zum Tempel, um den HERRN anzubeten.
“Stand in the gate of the LORD’S house and proclaim there this word and say, ‘Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah, who enter by these gates to worship the LORD!’”
Doch der HERR, der allmächtige Gott Israels, spricht: Ihr müsst euer Leben vollkommen ändern, nur dann werde ich euch weiter in diesem Land wohnen lassen.
Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, “Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place.
Glaubt den Lügnern nicht, die euch ständig einreden: ›Hier sind wir sicher, denn dies ist der Tempel des HERRN. Ja, dies ist der Tempel, in dem unser Gott wohnt.‹
“Do not trust in deceptive words, saying, ‘This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.’
Ich sage euch: Ändert euer Leben von Grund auf! Geht gut und gerecht miteinander um,
“For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor,
unterdrückt nicht die Ausländer, die Waisen und die Witwen, und hört auf, hier das Blut unschuldiger Menschen zu vergießen! Lauft nicht mehr anderen Göttern nach, denn damit schadet ihr euch bloß selbst.
if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your own ruin,
Nur dann dürft ihr für immer in diesem Land bleiben, das ich euren Vorfahren geschenkt habe.
then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.
Doch ihr vertraut auf falsche Versprechungen, die euch nichts nützen.
“Behold, you are trusting in deceptive words to no avail.
Ihr stehlt und mordet, brecht die Ehe und schwört Meineide, ihr bringt dem Götzen Baal Opfer dar und verehrt fremde Götter, die ihr früher nicht kanntet.
“Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery and swear falsely, and offer sacrifices to Baal and walk after other gods that you have not known,
Dann kommt ihr in meinen Tempel, tretet vor mich hin und sagt: ›Uns kann nichts geschehen!‹ — um es danach genauso schlimm zu treiben wie vorher.
then come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’ — that you may do all these abominations?
Meint ihr etwa, dieses Haus, das meinen Namen trägt, sei eine Räuberhöhle? Ich, der HERR, sehe genau, was ihr tut. Darauf könnt ihr euch verlassen!
“Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your sight? Behold, I, even I, have seen it,” declares the LORD.
Geht doch einmal zur Stadt Silo, wo früher mein Heiligtum stand. Schaut euch an, wie ich es damals zerstören ließ wegen der Bosheit meines Volkes Israel.
“But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I made My name dwell at the first, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel.
Ich, der HERR, sage euch: Ihr handelt genauso vermessen wie eure Vorfahren, und obwohl ich immer wieder zu euch geredet habe, wolltet ihr nicht hören. Ich habe euch gerufen, aber ihr habt mir keine Antwort gegeben.
“And now, because you have done all these things,” declares the LORD, “and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you but you did not answer,
Darum werde ich diesen Tempel, der meinen Namen trägt und in dem ihr euch so sicher fühlt, restlos zerstören. Ja, dieser Ort, den ich euren Vorfahren gab, wird dasselbe Schicksal erleiden wie Silo.
therefore, I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave you and your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.
Ich werde euch aus meiner Nähe verstoßen, so wie ich eure Brüder, den Stamm Ephraim, vertrieben habe.«
“I will cast you out of My sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, all the offspring of Ephraim.
Der Herr sprach zu mir: »Jeremia, bete nicht mehr für dieses Volk! Fleh nicht für sie um Gnade, bestürme mich nicht mehr mit Bitten, denn ich werde dich nicht erhören!
“As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with Me; for I do not hear you.
Siehst du nicht, was sie in den Städten von Juda und auf den Plätzen von Jerusalem tun?
“Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
Die Kinder sammeln Brennholz, die Männer machen damit Feuer, und die Frauen kneten einen Teig, um Kuchen als Opfergabe für die Himmelskönigin zu backen. Sie gießen Wein aus als Trankopfer für andere Götter und tun alles, um mich zu kränken.
“The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods in order to spite Me.
Doch können sie mich, den HERRN, damit wirklich treffen? Nein, sie schaden sich bloß selbst und bringen Schande über sich!
“Do they spite Me?” declares the LORD. “Is it not themselves they spite, to their own shame?”
Ich, Gott, der HERR, sage: Mein glühender Zorn wird sich über diesen Ort ergießen, über Mensch und Tier, über Bäume und Felder. Mein Zorn wird brennen wie ein Feuer und nicht erlöschen.
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, My anger and My wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and on beast and on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and not be quenched.”
So spricht der HERR, der allmächtige Gott Israels: Ich will eure Brandopfer nicht mehr! Esst das Fleisch der Tiere doch auf, wenn ihr eure Opfermahlzeit haltet!
Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat flesh.
Als ich eure Vorfahren aus Ägypten führte, habe ich ihnen nicht aufgetragen, mir Opfer darzubringen.
“For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Ich habe ihnen nur dies eine befohlen: ›Hört auf mich, dann will ich euer Gott sein, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein. Lebt ganz so, wie ich es euch befohlen habe, dann wird es euch gut gehen.‹
“But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you.’
Aber sie gehorchten mir nicht, ja, sie hörten mir nicht einmal zu, sondern lebten so, wie sie es wollten, und taten, wozu ihr Eigensinn sie trieb. Sie wandten sich von mir ab und kehrten mir den Rücken.
“Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward and not forward.
So ist es bis heute geblieben. Von Anfang an, seit eure Vorfahren aus Ägypten gezogen sind, habe ich immer wieder meine Boten, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt,
“Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have sent you all My servants the prophets, daily rising early and sending them.
aber ihr wolltet nicht auf mich hören und mir nicht gehorchen. Starrköpfig seid ihr, schlimmer noch als eure Vorfahren!
“Yet they did not listen to Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck; they did more evil than their fathers.
Und selbst wenn du, Jeremia, ihnen dies alles verkündest, werden sie doch nicht auf dich hören. Dein Rufen wird ohne Antwort bleiben.
“You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you; and you shall call to them, but they will not answer you.
Sag ihnen: Ihr seid das Volk, das dem HERRN, seinem Gott, nicht gehorcht und sich nichts sagen lässt. Treue und Wahrheit habt ihr verloren, ihr sprecht nicht einmal mehr darüber!«
“You shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the LORD their God or accept correction; truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.
»Trauere, Israel! Schneide dein langes Haar ab und wirf es fort! Stimm die Totenklage an, draußen auf den kahlen Hügeln! Denn ich, der HERR, habe dich verstoßen, ich will nichts mehr von dir wissen, mein Zorn lastet schwer auf dir!
‘Cut off your hair and cast it away,
And take up a lamentation on the bare heights;
For the LORD has rejected and forsaken
The generation of His wrath.’

Die Bewohner von Juda haben etwas getan, was ich hasse: Im Tempel, der meinen Namen trägt, haben sie ihre abscheulichen Götzen aufgestellt und ihn so entweiht.
“For the sons of Judah have done that which is evil in My sight,” declares the LORD, “they have set their detestable things in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.
Im Hinnomtal haben sie den Tofet errichtet und verbrennen auf dieser Opferstätte ihre Kinder. Niemals habe ich so etwas befohlen, mit keinem Gedanken je daran gedacht!
“They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, and it did not come into My mind.
Darum hört nun, was ich sage: Es kommt die Zeit, da wird man diesen Ort nicht mehr Tofet oder Hinnomtal nennen, sondern Mordtal. Man wird die Toten dort begraben, weil anderswo der Platz fehlt.
“Therefore, behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when it will no longer be called Topheth, or the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of the Slaughter; for they will bury in Topheth because there is no other place.
Die Vögel und wilden Tiere werden die herumliegenden Leichen fressen, ohne dass jemand sie verscheucht.
“The dead bodies of this people will be food for the birds of the sky and for the beasts of the earth; and no one will frighten them away.
In den Straßen von Jerusalem und in den anderen Städten Judas bereite ich allem Jubel und aller Freude ein Ende, es wird auch keine fröhlichen Hochzeitsfeiern mehr geben, denn das Land soll zur trostlosen Wüste werden.
“Then I will make to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land will become a ruin.
