The Paralytic Healed
When He had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that He was at home.

Und es versammelten sich so viele Menschen, dass nicht einmal mehr vor der Tür Platz war; und er verkündete ihnen das Wort.
And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them.
Da brachte man einen Gelähmten zu ihm, von vier Männern getragen.
And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men.
Weil sie ihn aber wegen der vielen Leute nicht bis zu Jesus bringen konnten, deckten sie dort, wo Jesus war, das Dach ab, schlugen die Decke durch und ließen den Gelähmten auf seiner Liege durch die Öffnung hinab.
Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.
Als Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sagte er zu dem Gelähmten: Mein Sohn, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben!
And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Einige Schriftgelehrte aber, die dort saßen, dachten in ihrem Herzen:
But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
Wie kann dieser Mensch so reden? Er lästert Gott. Wer kann Sünden vergeben außer dem einen Gott?
“Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Jesus erkannte sogleich in seinem Geist, dass sie so bei sich dachten, und sagte zu ihnen: Was für Gedanken habt ihr in euren Herzen?
Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were reasoning that way within themselves, said to them, “Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts?
Was ist leichter, zu dem Gelähmten zu sagen: Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben! oder zu sagen: Steh auf, nimm deine Liege und geh umher?
“Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk’?
Damit ihr aber erkennt, dass der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, auf der Erde Sünden zu vergeben — sagte er zu dem Gelähmten:
“But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” — He said to the paralytic,
Ich sage dir: Steh auf, nimm deine Liege und geh nach Hause!
“I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet and go home.”
Er stand sofort auf, nahm seine Liege und ging vor aller Augen weg. Da gerieten alle in Staunen; sie priesen Gott und sagten: So etwas haben wir noch nie gesehen.
And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and were glorifying God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this.”
Jesus ging wieder hinaus an den See. Da kamen Scharen von Menschen zu ihm und er lehrte sie.
And He went out again by the seashore; and all the people were coming to Him, and He was teaching them.
Als er weiterging, sah er Levi, den Sohn des Alphäus, am Zoll sitzen und sagte zu ihm: Folge mir nach! Da stand Levi auf und folgte ihm nach.
Levi (Matthew) Called
As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting in the tax booth, and He said to him, “Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him.
Und als Jesus in dessen Haus zu Tisch war, da waren viele Zöllner und Sünder zusammen mit ihm und seinen Jüngern zu Tisch; es waren nämlich viele, die ihm nachfolgten.
And it happened that He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners were dining with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many of them, and they were following Him.
Als die Schriftgelehrten der Pharisäer sahen, dass er mit Zöllnern und Sündern aß, sagten sie zu seinen Jüngern: Wie kann er zusammen mit Zöllnern und Sündern essen?
When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, “Why is He eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?”
Jesus hörte es und sagte zu ihnen: Nicht die Gesunden bedürfen des Arztes, sondern die Kranken. Ich bin nicht gekommen, um Gerechte zu rufen, sondern Sünder.
And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Da die Jünger des Johannes und die Pharisäer zu fasten pflegten, kamen Leute zu Jesus und sagten: Warum fasten deine Jünger nicht, während die Jünger des Johannes und die Jünger der Pharisäer fasten?
John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they came and said to Him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”
Jesus antwortete ihnen: Können denn die Hochzeitsgäste fasten, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist? Solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist, können sie nicht fasten.
And Jesus said to them, “While the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroom cannot fast, can they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Es werden aber Tage kommen, da wird ihnen der Bräutigam weggenommen sein; dann werden sie fasten, an jenem Tag.
“But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
Niemand näht ein Stück neuen Stoff auf ein altes Gewand; denn der neue Stoff reißt vom alten Gewand ab und es entsteht ein noch größerer Riss.
“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear results.
Auch füllt niemand jungen Wein in alte Schläuche. Sonst zerreißt der Wein die Schläuche; der Wein ist verloren und die Schläuche sind unbrauchbar. Junger Wein gehört in neue Schläuche.
“No one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the skins as well; but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins.”
An einem Sabbat ging er durch die Kornfelder und unterwegs rissen seine Jünger Ähren ab.
Question of the Sabbath
And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain.
Da sagten die Pharisäer zu ihm: Sieh dir an, was sie tun! Das ist doch am Sabbat nicht erlaubt.
The Pharisees were saying to Him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
Er antwortete: Habt ihr nie gelesen, was David getan hat, als er und seine Begleiter hungrig waren und nichts zu essen hatten,
And He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry;
wie er zur Zeit des Hohepriesters Abjatar in das Haus Gottes ging und die Schaubrote aß, die außer den Priestern niemand essen darf, und auch seinen Begleitern davon gab?
how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests, and he also gave it to those who were with him?”
Und Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Der Sabbat wurde für den Menschen gemacht, nicht der Mensch für den Sabbat.
Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
