At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

Hört ihr, wie der Donner rollt? Hört ihr Gottes Stimme? Welch ein Grollen kommt aus seinem Mund!
Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
Er lässt den Donner los — der ganze Himmel ist davon erfüllt, und seine Blitze zucken weithin über die Erde!
He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
Dann brüllt der Donner; ja, Gottes mächtige Stimme erklingt. Und wieder zucken die Blitze, und wieder kracht der Donner.
After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
Gott lässt es donnern — seine Stimme überwältigt uns; er vollbringt große Wunder, die wir nicht begreifen.
God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
Zum Schnee sagt er: ›Fall zur Erde nieder!‹, und zum Regen: ›Werde zur Sturzflut!‹
For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
So hindert er uns Menschen an der Arbeit, damit wir alle sehen, was er tut.
He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
Die wilden Tiere verkriechen sich und bleiben in ihren Höhlen.
Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
Aus seiner Kammer kommt der Sturm, die Nordwinde bringen beißende Kälte.
Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
Der Atem Gottes lässt das Eis entstehen, die weite Wasseroberfläche ist erstarrt.
By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
Er füllt die Wolken mit Wasser und lässt seine Blitze hindurchzucken.
Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
Die Wolken ziehen hin und her, wie er sie lenkt; auf der ganzen Erde führen sie aus, was Gott ihnen befiehlt.
And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
Mal lässt er sie zur Strafe kommen für ein Land, mal als Zeichen seiner Güte.
He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
Hör es dir an, Hiob! Steh still und denke über Gottes Wundertaten nach!
Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
Weißt du, wie er die Wolken lenkt und wie er seine Blitze zucken lässt?
Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Weißt du, wie die Wolken schweben, diese Wunderwerke aus vollkommener Meisterhand?
Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
Du schwitzt ja schon, wenn die drückende Hitze des Südwinds auf dem Land liegt.
How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
Wie kannst du dann Gott helfen, den blauen Himmel auszubreiten, fest wie ein Spiegel, aus Bronze gegossen?
Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
Teile uns mit, was wir ihm sagen sollen! Denn wir tappen im Dunkeln und können unseren Fall nicht vorbringen.
Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
Soll es Gott verkündet werden, dass ich mit ihm zu reden wünsche? Niemals! Wer das wagt, wird sicher von ihm verschlungen werden.
Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
Jetzt hat der Wind die Wolken weggefegt, und die Sonne strahlt so hell, dass niemand von uns in ihr Licht schauen kann.
And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
Von Norden naht ein goldener Glanz. Gott kommt in furchterregender Majestät.
Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
Ihn, den Gewaltigen, erreichen wir nicht. Groß ist seine Kraft, und er ist reich an Gerechtigkeit. Niemals unterdrückt er das Recht!
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
