Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; so that he is not enrolled in the genealogy according to the birthright.

denn Juda, der mächtig war unter seinen Brüdern, dem ward das Fürstentum vor ihm gegeben, und Joseph die Erstgeburt.
Though Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came the leader, yet the birthright belonged to Joseph),
So sind nun die Kinder Rubens, des ersten Sohnes Israels: Henoch, Pallu, Hezron und Charmi.
the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
Die Kinder aber Joels waren: Semaja; des Sohn war Gog; des Sohn war Simei;
The sons of Joel were Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
des Sohn war Micha; des Sohn war Reaja; des Sohn war Baal;
Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
des Sohn war Beera, welchen gefangen wegführte Thilgath–Pilneser, der König von Assyrien; er aber war ein Fürst unter den Rubenitern.
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away into exile; he was leader of the Reubenites.
Aber seine Brüder unter seinen Geschlechtern, da sie nach ihrer Geburt aufgezeichnet wurden, waren: Jeiel, der Oberste, und Sacharja
His kinsmen by their families, in the genealogy of their generations, were Jeiel the chief, then Zechariah
und Bela, der Sohn des Asas, des Sohnes Semas, des Sohnes Joels; der wohnte zu Aroer und bis gen Nebo und Baal–Meon
and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who lived in Aroer, even to Nebo and Baal-meon.
und wohnte gegen Aufgang, bis man kommt an die Wüste am Wasser Euphrat; denn ihres Viehs war viel im Lande Gilead.
To the east he settled as far as the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their cattle had increased in the land of Gilead.
Und zur Zeit Sauls führten sie Krieg wider die Hagariter, daß die fielen durch ihre Hand, und wohnten in deren Hütten auf der ganzen Morgengrenze von Gilead.
In the days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, so that they occupied their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.
Die Kinder Gads aber wohnten ihnen gegenüber im Lande Basan bis gen Salcha:
Now the sons of Gad lived opposite them in the land of Bashan as far as Salecah.
Joel, der Vornehmste, und Sapham, der andere, Jaenai und Saphat zu Basan.
Joel was the chief and Shapham the second, then Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.
Und ihre Brüder nach ihren Vaterhäusern waren: Michael, Mesullam, Seba, Jorai, Jaekan, Sia und Eber, die sieben.
Their kinsmen of their fathers’ households were Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia and Eber, seven.
Dies sind die Kinder Abihails, des Sohnes Huris, des Sohnes Jaroahs, des Sohnes Gileads, des Sohnes Michaels, des Sohnes Jesisais, des Sohnes Jahdos, des Sohnes des Bus.
These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
Ahi, der Sohn Abdiels, des Sohnes Gunis, war ein Oberster in ihren Vaterhäusern,
Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was head of their fathers’ households.
und sie wohnten zu Gilead in Basan und in seinen Ortschaften und in allen Fluren Sarons bis an ihre Enden.
They lived in Gilead, in Bashan and in its towns, and in all the pasture lands of Sharon, as far as their borders.
Diese wurden alle aufgezeichnet zur Zeit Jothams, des Königs in Juda, und Jerobeams, des Königs über Israel.
All of these were enrolled in the genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
Der Kinder Ruben, der Gaditer und des halben Stammes Manasse, was streitbare Männer waren, die Schild und Schwert führen und Bogen spannen konnten und streitkundig waren, deren waren 44,760, die ins Heer zogen.
The sons of Reuben and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, consisting of valiant men, men who bore shield and sword and shot with bow and were skillful in battle, were 44,760, who went to war.
Und sie stritten mit den Hagaritern und mit Jetur, Naphis und Nodab;
They made war against the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.
und es ward ihnen geholfen wider sie, und die Hagariter wurden gegeben in ihre Hände und alle, die mit ihnen waren. Denn sie schrieen zu Gott im Streit, und er ließ sich erbitten; denn sie vertrauten ihm.
They were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hand; for they cried out to God in the battle, and He answered their prayers because they trusted in Him.
Und sie führten weg ihr Vieh, 5000 Kamele, 250,000 Schafe, 2000 Esel und 100,000 Menschenseelen.
They took away their cattle: their 50,000 camels, 250,000 sheep, 2,000 donkeys; and 100,000 men.
Denn es fielen viele Verwundete; denn der Streit war von Gott. Und sie wohnten an ihrer Statt bis zur Zeit, da sie gefangen weggeführt wurden.
For many fell slain, because the war was of God. And they settled in their place until the exile.
Die Kinder aber des halben Stammes Manasse wohnten im Lande von Basan an bis gen Baal–Hermon und Senir und den Berg Hermon; und ihrer waren viel.
Now the sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land; from Bashan to Baal-hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon they were numerous.
Und diese waren die Häupter ihrer Vaterhäuser: Epher, Jesei, Eliel, Asriel, Jeremia, Hodavja, Jahdiel, gewaltige Männer und berühmte Häupter in ihren Vaterhäusern.
These were the heads of their fathers’ households, even Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers’ households.
Und da sie sich an dem Gott ihrer Väter versündigten und abfielen zu den Götzen der Völker im Lande, die Gott vor ihnen vertilgt hatte,
But they acted treacherously against the God of their fathers and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.
erweckte der Gott Israels den Geist Phuls, des Königs von Assyrien, und den Geist Thilgath–Pilnesers, des Königs von Assyrien; der führte weg die Rubeniter, Gaditer und den halben Stamm Manasse und brachte sie gen Halah und an den Habor und gen Hara und ans Wasser Gosan bis auf diesen Tag.
So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul, king of Assyria, even the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away into exile, namely the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
