Philippians 4

Also, meine lieben und ersehnten Brüder, meine Freude und meine Krone, bestehet also in dem HERRN, ihr Lieben.

Stand Firm in the Lord

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

Die Evodia ermahne ich, und die Syntyche ermahne ich, daß sie eines Sinnes seien in dem HERRN.

I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

Ja ich bitte auch dich, mein treuer Geselle, stehe ihnen bei, die samt mir für das Evangelium gekämpft haben, mit Klemens und meinen andern Gehilfen, welcher Namen sind in dem Buch des Lebens.

And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Freuet euch in dem HERRN allewege! Und abermals sage ich: Freuet euch!

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Eure Lindigkeit lasset kund sein allen Menschen! Der HERR ist nahe!

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Sorget nichts! sondern in allen Dingen lasset eure Bitten im Gebet und Flehen mit Danksagung vor Gott kund werden.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Und der Friede Gottes, welcher höher ist denn alle Vernunft, bewahre eure Herzen und Sinne in Christo Jesu!

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Weiter, liebe Brüder, was wahrhaftig ist, was ehrbar, was gerecht, was keusch, was lieblich, was wohl lautet, ist etwa eine Tugend, ist etwa ein Lob, dem denket nach!

Think on These Things

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Welches ihr auch gelernt und empfangen und gehört und gesehen habt an mir, das tut; so wird der Gott des Friedens mit euch sein.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Ich bin aber höchlich erfreut in dem HERRN, daß ihr wieder wacker geworden seid, für mich zu sorgen; wiewohl ihr allewege gesorgt habt, aber die Zeit hat’s nicht wollen leiden.

Philippian Generosity

But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

Nicht sage ich das des Mangels halben; denn ich habe gelernt, worin ich bin, mir genügen zu lassen.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Ich kann niedrig sein und kann hoch sein; ich bin in allen Dingen und bei allen geschickt, beides, satt sein und hungern, beides, übrighaben und Mangel leiden.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Ich vermag alles durch den, der mich mächtig macht, Christus.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Doch ihr habt wohl getan, daß ihr euch meiner Trübsal angenommen habt.

Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

Ihr aber von Philippi wisset, daß von Anfang des Evangeliums, da ich auszog aus Mazedonien, keine Gemeinde mit mir geteilt hat nach der Rechnung der Ausgabe und Einnahme als ihr allein.

Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Denn auch gen Thessalonich sandtet ihr zu meiner Notdurft einmal und darnach noch einmal.

For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

Nicht, daß ich das Geschenk suche; sondern ich suche die Frucht, daß sie reichlich in eurer Rechnung sei.

Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

Denn ich habe alles und habe überflüssig. Ich habe die Fülle, da ich empfing durch Epaphroditus, was von euch kam: ein süßer Geruch, ein angenehmes Opfer, Gott gefällig.

But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

Mein Gott aber fülle aus alle eure Notdurft nach seinem Reichtum in der Herrlichkeit in Christo Jesu.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Gott aber, unserm Vater, sei Ehre von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.

Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Grüßet alle Heiligen in Christo Jesu. Es grüßen euch die Brüder, die bei mir sind.

Es grüßen euch alle Heiligen, sonderlich aber die von des Kaisers Hause.
