“Call for your brother, Aaron, and his sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. Set them apart from the rest of the people of Israel so they may minister to me and be my priests.

Lass für deinen Bruder Aaron heilige Gewänder der Ehre und der Würde anfertigen!
Make sacred garments for Aaron that are glorious and beautiful.
Rede mit allen Sachkundigen, die ich mit dem Geist der Weisheit erfüllt habe; sie sollen Aarons Gewänder anfertigen, damit er geheiligt sei und mir als Priester dient.
Instruct all the skilled craftsmen whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom. Have them make garments for Aaron that will distinguish him as a priest set apart for my service.
Das sind die Gewänder, die sie anfertigen sollen: Brusttasche, Efod, Obergewand, Leibrock aus gewirktem Stoff, Turban und Gürtel. Sie sollen also für deinen Bruder Aaron und für seine Söhne heilige Gewänder anfertigen, damit er mir als Priester dient.
These are the garments they are to make: a chestpiece, an ephod, a robe, a patterned tunic, a turban, and a sash. They are to make these sacred garments for your brother, Aaron, and his sons to wear when they serve me as priests.
Sie sollen dazu Gold, violetten und roten Purpur, Karmesin und Byssus verwenden.
So give them fine linen cloth, gold thread, and blue, purple, and scarlet thread.
Das Efod sollen sie als Kunstweberarbeit herstellen, aus Gold, violettem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus.
Design of the Ephod
“The craftsmen must make the ephod of finely woven linen and skillfully embroider it with gold and with blue, purple, and scarlet thread.
Es soll zwei miteinander verbundene Schulterstücke haben, und zwar an seinen beiden Enden sollen sie miteinander verbunden sein.
It will consist of two pieces, front and back, joined at the shoulders with two shoulder-pieces.
Die Schärpe am Efod soll von derselben Machart sein und mit ihm ein einziges Stück bilden, aus Gold, violettem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus.
The decorative sash will be made of the same materials: finely woven linen embroidered with gold and with blue, purple, and scarlet thread.
Nimm die beiden Karneolsteine und schneide die Namen der Söhne Israels ein:
“Take two onyx stones, and engrave on them the names of the tribes of Israel.

Six names will be on each stone, arranged in the order of the births of the original sons of Israel.

Engrave these names on the two stones in the same way a jeweler engraves a seal. Then mount the stones in settings of gold filigree.
Befestige die beiden Steine an den Schulterstücken des Efod als Steine, die den HERRN an die Israeliten erinnern! Aaron soll ihre Namen auf beiden Schulterstücken vor dem HERRN zur Erinnerung tragen.
Fasten the two stones on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod as a reminder that Aaron represents the people of Israel. Aaron will carry these names on his shoulders as a constant reminder whenever he goes before the LORD.
und zwei Ketten aus purem Gold machen; dreh sie wie eine Schnur und befestige die schnurartigen Ketten an den Fassungen!
then braid two cords of pure gold and attach them to the filigree settings on the shoulders of the ephod.
Mach die Brusttasche des Rechtsentscheids; als Kunstweberarbeit wie das Efod sollst du sie herstellen; aus Gold, violettem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus sollst du sie herstellen.
Sie soll quadratisch sein, zusammengefaltet, eine Spanne lang und eine Spanne breit.

The second row will contain a turquoise, a blue lapis lazuli, and a white moonstone.

Each stone will represent one of the twelve sons of Israel, and the name of that tribe will be engraved on it like a seal.
Befestige an der Brusttasche schnurartige, gedrehte Ketten aus purem Gold!
“To attach the chestpiece to the ephod, make braided cords of pure gold thread.
An der Brusttasche bring zwei goldene Ringe an und befestige die Ringe an den Enden der Brusttasche!
Then make two gold rings and attach them to the top corners of the chestpiece.
Sodann verbinde die beiden Goldschnüre mit den beiden Ringen an den Enden der Brusttasche;
Tie the two gold cords to the two rings on the chestpiece.
die zwei andern Enden der Schnüre befestige an den beiden Einfassungen und häng sie an die Vorderseite der Schulterstücke des Efod!
Tie the other ends of the cords to the gold settings on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod.
Mach noch zwei Goldringe und befestige sie an den beiden Enden der Brusttasche, und zwar am inneren Rand, der dem Efod zugekehrt ist.
Then make two more gold rings and attach them to the inside edges of the chestpiece next to the ephod.
Mach zwei Goldringe und befestige sie unten an den beiden Schulterstücken des Efod, und zwar an der Vorderseite, nahe ihrer Naht, aber oberhalb der Efodschärpe!
And make two more gold rings and attach them to the front of the ephod, below the shoulder-pieces, just above the knot where the decorative sash is fastened to the ephod.
Man soll die Lostasche mit ihren Ringen an die Ringe des Efod mit einer violetten Purpurschnur binden, damit sie über der Efodschärpe bleibt und sich die Lostasche nicht vom Efod verschiebt.
Then attach the bottom rings of the chestpiece to the rings on the ephod with blue cords. This will hold the chestpiece securely to the ephod above the decorative sash.
Aaron soll die Namen der Söhne Israels in der Brusttasche des Rechtsentscheids über seinem Herzen tragen, wenn er zum Heiligtum kommt, zur immerwährenden Erinnerung vor dem HERRN.
In die Brusttasche des Rechtsentscheids steck die Urim und die Tummim; sie sollen sich über dem Herzen Aarons befinden, wenn er vor den HERRN kommt; Aaron trage den Rechtsentscheid für die Israeliten über seinem Herzen ständig vor dem HERRN.
Insert the Urim and Thummim into the sacred chestpiece so they will be carried over Aaron’s heart when he goes into the LORD’s presence. In this way, Aaron will always carry over his heart the objects used to determine the LORD’s will for his people whenever he goes in before the LORD.

Additional Clothing for the Priests
“Make the robe that is worn with the ephod from a single piece of blue cloth,
in seiner Mitte soll sich eine Öffnung für den Kopf befinden; an seiner Öffnung ringsum soll wie bei der Öffnung eines Panzerhemds ein gewebter, unzerreißbarer Rand angebracht sein.
An seinem Saum mach Granatäpfel aus violettem und rotem Purpur und aus Karmesin, an seinem Saum ringsum, und dazwischen goldene Glöckchen ringsum:
Make pomegranates out of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and attach them to the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them.
ein goldenes Glöckchen und ein Granatapfel abwechselnd ringsum am Saum des Mantels.
The gold bells and pomegranates are to alternate all around the hem.
Aaron soll ihn beim Dienst tragen; sein Ton soll zu hören sein, wenn er ins Heilige vor den HERRN hintritt und wenn er wieder herauskommt; so wird er nicht sterben.
Aaron will wear this robe whenever he ministers before the LORD, and the bells will tinkle as he goes in and out of the LORD’s presence in the Holy Place. If he wears it, he will not die.
Mach eine Rosette aus purem Gold und bring darauf nach Art der Siegelgravierung die Inschrift an: Heilig dem HERRN!
“Next make a medallion of pure gold, and engrave it like a seal with these words: Holy to the Lord.
Befestige die Rosette an einer Schnur aus violettem Purpur und bring sie am Turban an; sie soll an der Vorderseite des Turbans angebracht werden.
Attach the medallion with a blue cord to the front of Aaron’s turban, where it must remain.
Sie soll auf Aarons Stirn sein, sodass Aaron die Mängel an den heiligen Dingen übernimmt, die die Israeliten heiligen, für alle heiligen Abgaben; sie soll ständig auf Aarons Stirn sein, damit sie dem HERRN wohlgefällig sind.
Aaron must wear it on his forehead so he may take on himself any guilt of the people of Israel when they consecrate their sacred offerings. He must always wear it on his forehead so the LORD will accept the people.
Web den Leibrock aus Byssus; mach einen Turban aus Byssus und einen Gürtel in Buntwirkerarbeit!
“Weave Aaron’s patterned tunic from fine linen cloth. Fashion the turban from this linen as well. Also make a sash, and decorate it with colorful embroidery.
Für die Söhne Aarons verfertige Leibröcke und mach ihnen Gürtel! Mach für sie auch Kopfbünde der Ehre und der Würde!
“For Aaron’s sons, make tunics, sashes, and special head coverings that are glorious and beautiful.
Dann bekleide damit deinen Bruder Aaron und zusammen mit ihm auch seine Söhne und salbe sie, fülle ihre Hände und weihe sie, damit sie mir als Priester dienen!
Clothe your brother, Aaron, and his sons with these garments, and then anoint and ordain them. Consecrate them so they can serve as my priests.
Mach ihnen Beinkleider aus Leinen, damit sie ihre Scham bedecken; von den Hüften bis zu den Schenkeln sollen sie reichen.
Also make linen undergarments for them, to be worn next to their bodies, reaching from their hips to their thighs.
Aaron und seine Söhne sollen sie tragen, wenn sie zum Offenbarungszelt kommen oder sich dem Altar nähern, um den Dienst im Heiligtum zu verrichten; so werden sie keine Schuld auf sich laden und nicht sterben. Eine beständige Satzung ist dies für ihn und seine Nachkommen.
