Gott, schweig doch nicht, bleib nicht still, Gott, und bleib nicht ruhig!
For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Denn siehe, deine Feinde toben, die dich hassen, erheben das Haupt.
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
Gegen dein Volk ersinnen sie einen listigen Plan und halten Rat gegen die, die sich bei dir bergen.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Sie sagen: Auf, wir wollen sie als Volk vernichten, des Namens Israel werde nie mehr gedacht!
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
Ja, sie halten einmütig Rat, schließen gegen dich einen Bund:
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
Mach sie zu Distelgewirbel, mein Gott, zu Spreu vor dem Wind!
As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
Wie Feuer, das Wälder verbrennt, wie eine Flamme, die Berge versengt,
So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
so jage sie davon mit deinem Sturm und schrecke sie mit deinem Wetter!
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
Bedecke mit Schmach ihr Gesicht, damit sie, HERR, nach deinem Namen fragen.
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
