Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

Und ihr Väter, reizt eure Kinder nicht zum Zorn, sondern erzieht sie in der Zucht und Weisung des Herrn!
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Dient mit Hingabe, als dientet ihr dem Herrn und nicht den Menschen!
With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
Denn ihr wisst, dass jeder, der etwas Gutes tut, es vom Herrn zurückerhalten wird, ob er ein Sklave ist oder ein Freier.
Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
Und ihr Herren, handelt in gleicher Weise ihnen gegenüber, unterlasst das Drohen, denn ihr wisst, dass ihr im Himmel denselben Herrn habt, und bei ihm gibt es kein Ansehen der Person!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Zieht an die Waffenrüstung Gottes, um den listigen Anschlägen des Teufels zu widerstehen!
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Denn wir haben nicht gegen Menschen aus Fleisch und Blut zu kämpfen, sondern gegen Mächte und Gewalten, gegen die Weltherrscher dieser Finsternis, gegen die bösen Geister in den himmlischen Bereichen.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Darum legt die Waffenrüstung Gottes an, damit ihr am Tag des Unheils widerstehen, alles vollbringen und standhalten könnt!
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Steht also da, eure Hüften umgürtet mit Wahrheit, angetan mit dem Brustpanzer der Gerechtigkeit,
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
die Füße beschuht mit der Bereitschaft für das Evangelium des Friedens.
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Vor allem greift zum Schild des Glaubens! Mit ihm könnt ihr alle feurigen Geschosse des Bösen auslöschen.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Friede sei mit den Brüdern, Liebe und Glaube von Gott, dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.
