Job Humbles Himself Before God
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

Mit dem Allmächtigen will der Tadler rechten? Wer Gott anklagt, der antworte nun!
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
Siehe, ich bin zu gering. Was kann ich dir erwidern? Ich lege meine Hand auf meinen Mund.
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
Einmal habe ich geredet, doch ich werde nicht antworten; ein zweites Mal, doch ich fahre nicht fort!
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Da antwortete der HERR dem Ijob aus dem Wettersturm und sprach:
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Auf, gürte deine Lenden wie ein Mann! Ich will dich fragen, du belehre mich!
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
Willst du wirklich mein Recht brechen, mich schuldig sprechen, damit du Recht behältst?
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Hast du denn einen Arm wie Gott, dröhnst du wie er mit Donnerstimme?
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Schmücke dich doch mit Hoheit und Majestät und kleide dich in Prunk und Pracht!
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
Lass die Fluten deines Zornes sich ergießen, schau an jeden Stolzen, demütige ihn!
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Schau an jeden Stolzen, zwing ihn nieder! Zertritt die Frevler auf der Stelle!
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Verbirg sie insgesamt im Staub, schließ ihre Gesichter im Verborgenen ein!
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
Dann werde auch ich dich preisen, weil deine Rechte den Sieg dir verschaffte.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Sieh doch das Nilpferd, das ich wie dich erschuf. Gras frisst es wie ein Rind.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Sieh doch die Kraft in seinen Lenden und die Stärke in den Muskeln seines Leibes!
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Aufgerichtet wie eine Zeder ist sein Schwanz, straff sind verflochten seiner Schenkel Sehnen.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
Seine Knochen sind Röhren aus Bronze, wie Eisenstangen sein Gebein.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
Es ist der Anfang der Wege Gottes; der es gemacht hat, gab ihm sein Schwert.
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
Doch die Berge tragen ihm Futter zu und alle Tiere des Feldes spielen dort.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Es lagert unter Lotusbüschen, im Versteck von Schilf und Sumpf.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
Lotusbüsche spenden ihm Schatten, die Pappeln am Fluss umgeben es.
The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Wenn auch der Fluss anschwillt, es zittert nicht, es bleibt ruhig, wenn auch die Flut ihm ins Maul dringt.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
