Weh euch Hirten, die ihr die Herde meiner Weide umbringet und zerstreuet! spricht der HERR.
The Righteous Branch
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord.

Darum spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, von den Hirten, die mein Volk weiden: Ihr habt meine Herde zerstreut und verstoßen und nicht besucht. Siehe, ich will euch heimsuchen um eures bösen Wesens willen, spricht der HERR.
Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord.
Und ich will die übrigen meiner Herde sammeln aus allen Ländern, dahin ich sie verstoßen habe, und will sie wiederbringen zu ihren Hürden, daß sie sollen wachsen und viel werden.
Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.
Und ich will Hirten über sie setzen, die sie weiden sollen, daß sie sich nicht mehr sollen fürchten noch erschrecken noch heimgesucht werden, spricht der HERR.
I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.
Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich dem David ein gerechtes Gewächs erwecken will, und soll ein König sein, der wohl regieren wird und Recht und Gerechtigkeit auf Erden anrichten.
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
Zu seiner Zeit soll Juda geholfen werden und Israel sicher wohnen. Und dies wird sein Name sein, daß man ihn nennen wird: Der HERR unsre Gerechtigkeit.
In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’
Darum siehe, es wird die Zeit kommen, spricht der HERR, daß man nicht mehr sagen wird: So wahr der HERR lebt, der die Kinder Israel aus Ägyptenland geführt hat!
“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’
sondern: So wahr der HERR lebt, der den Samen des Hauses Israel hat herausgeführt und gebracht aus dem Lande der Mitternacht und aus allen Landen, dahin ich sie verstoßen hatte, daß sie in ihrem Lande wohnen sollen!
Wider die Propheten. Mein Herz will mir in meinem Leibe brechen, alle meine Gebeine zittern; mir ist wie einem trunkenen Mann und wie einem, der vom Wein taumelt, vor dem HERRN und vor seinen heiligen Worten;
Lying Prophets
Concerning the prophets:

I am like a drunken man,
like a man overcome by wine,

daß das Land so voll Ehebrecher ist, daß das Land so jämmerlich steht, daß es so verflucht ist und die Auen in der Wüste verdorren; und ihr Leben ist böse, und ihr Regiment taugt nicht.
For the land is full of adulterers;
because of the curse the land mourns,
and the pastures of the wilderness are dried up.

Denn beide, Propheten und Priester, sind Schälke; und auch in meinem Hause finde ich ihre Bosheit, spricht der HERR.
“Both prophet and priest are ungodly;
even in my house I have found their evil,
even in my house I have found their evil,
Darum ist ihr Weg wie ein glatter Weg im Finstern, darauf sie gleiten und fallen; denn ich will Unglück über sie kommen lassen, das Jahr ihrer Heimsuchung, spricht der HERR.

Zwar bei den Propheten zu Samaria sah ich Torheit, daß sie weissagten durch Baal und verführten mein Volk Israel;

aber bei den Propheten zu Jerusalem sehe ich Greuel, wie sie ehebrechen und gehen mit Lügen um und stärken die Boshaften, auf daß sich ja niemand bekehre von seiner Bosheit. Sie sind alle vor mir gleichwie Sodom, und die Bürger zu Jerusalem wie Gomorra.

Darum spricht der HERR Zebaoth von den Propheten also: Siehe, ich will sie mit Wermut speisen und mit Galle tränken; denn von den Propheten zu Jerusalem kommt Heuchelei aus ins ganze Land.

“Behold, I will feed them with bitter food
and give them poisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”

So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Gehorchet nicht den Worten der Propheten, so euch weissagen. Sie betrügen euch; denn sie predigen ihres Herzens Gesicht und nicht aus des HERRN Munde.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord.
Sie sagen denen, die mich lästern: »Der HERR hat’s gesagt, es wird euch wohl gehen»; und allen, die nach ihres Herzens Dünkel wandeln, sagen sie: »Es wird kein Unglück über euch kommen.
They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, ‘It shall be well with you’; and to everyone who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say, ‘No disaster shall come upon you.’”
Aber wer ist im Rat des HERRN gestanden, der sein Wort gesehen und gehört habe? Wer hat sein Wort vernommen und gehört?

Siehe, es wird ein Wetter des HERRN mit Grimm kommen und ein schreckliches Ungewitter den Gottlosen auf den Kopf fallen.

Und des HERRN Zorn wird nicht nachlassen, bis er tue und ausrichte, was er im Sinn hat; zur letzten Zeit werdet ihr’s wohl erfahren.

Ich sandte die Propheten nicht, doch liefen sie; ich redete nicht zu ihnen, doch weissagten sie.

yet they ran;
I did not speak to them,

Denn wo sie bei meinem Rat geblieben wären und hätten meine Worte meinem Volk gepredigt, so hätten sie dasselbe von seinem bösen Wesen und von seinem bösen Leben bekehrt.

Bin ich nur ein Gott, der nahe ist, spricht der HERR, und nicht auch ein Gott von ferneher?
“Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away?
Meinst du, daß sich jemand so heimlich verbergen könne, daß ich ihn nicht sehe? spricht der HERR. Bin ich es nicht, der Himmel und Erde füllt? spricht der HERR.
Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.
Ich höre es wohl, was die Propheten predigen und falsch weissagen in meinem Namen und sprechen: Mir hat geträumt, mir hat geträumt.
I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’
Wann wollen doch die Propheten aufhören, die falsch weissagen und ihres Herzens Trügerei weissagen
How long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart,
und wollen, daß mein Volk meines Namens vergesse über ihren Träumen, die einer dem andern erzählt? gleichwie ihre Väter meines Namens vergaßen über dem Baal.
who think to make my people forget my name by their dreams that they tell one another, even as their fathers forgot my name for Baal?
Ein Prophet, der Träume hat, der erzähle Träume; wer aber mein Wort hat, der predige mein Wort recht. Wie reimen sich Stroh und Weizen zusammen? spricht der HERR.
Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord.
Ist mein Wort nicht wie Feuer, spricht der HERR, und wie ein Hammer, der Felsen zerschmeißt?
Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
Darum siehe, ich will an die Propheten, spricht der HERR, die mein Wort stehlen einer dem andern.
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who steal my words from one another.

Siehe, ich will an die, so falsche Träume weissagen, spricht der HERR, und erzählen dieselben und verführen mein Volk mit ihren Lügen und losen Reden, so ich sie doch nicht gesandt und ihnen nichts befohlen habe und sie auch diesem Volk nichts nütze sind, spricht der HERR.
Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, declares the Lord, and who tell them and lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them. So they do not profit this people at all, declares the Lord.
Wenn dich dies Volk oder ein Prophet oder ein Priester fragen wird und sagen: Welches ist die Last des HERRN? sollst du zu ihnen sagen, was die Last sei: Ich will euch hinwerfen, spricht der HERR.
Und wo ein Prophet oder Priester oder das Volk wird sagen: »Das ist die Last des HERRN,« den will ich heimsuchen und sein Haus dazu.
And as for the prophet, priest, or one of the people who says, ‘The burden of the Lord,’ I will punish that man and his household.
Also sollt ihr aber einer mit dem andern reden und untereinander sagen: »Was antwortet der HERR, und was sagt der HERR?
Thus shall you say, every one to his neighbor and every one to his brother, ‘What has the Lord answered?’ or ‘What has the Lord spoken?’
Und nennt’s nicht mehr «Last des HERRN»; denn einem jeglichem wird sein eigenes Wort eine Last» sein, weil ihr also die Worte des lebendigen Gottes, des HERRN Zebaoth, unsers Gottes, verkehrt.
But ‘the burden of the Lord’ you shall mention no more, for the burden is every man’s own word, and you pervert the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God.
Darum sollt ihr zum Propheten also sagen: Was antwortet dir der HERR, und was sagt der HERR?
Thus you shall say to the prophet, ‘What has the Lord answered you?’ or ‘What has the Lord spoken?’
Weil ihr aber sprechet: «Last des HERRN,« darum spricht der HERR also: Nun ihr dies Wort eine «Last des HERRN« nennt und ich zu euch gesandt habe und sagen lassen, ihr sollt’s nicht nennen «Last des HERRN»:
But if you say, ‘The burden of the Lord,’ thus says the Lord, ‘Because you have said these words, “The burden of the Lord,” when I sent to you, saying, “You shall not say, ‘The burden of the Lord,’”
siehe, so will ich euch hinwegnehmen und euch samt der Stadt, die ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe, von meinem Angesicht wegwerfen
