Von der Huld des HERRN will ich ewig singen, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht mit meinem Mund deine Treue verkünden.
For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
Denn ich bekenne: Auf ewig ist Huld gegründet, im Himmel deine Treue gefestigt.
I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
Ich habe einen Bund geschlossen mit meinem Erwählten und David, meinem Knecht, geschworen:
Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
Auf ewig gebe ich deinem Haus festen Bestand und von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht gründe ich deinen Thron. [Sela]
And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
Die Himmel preisen deine Wunder, HERR, und die Versammlung der Heiligen deine Treue.
For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
Denn wer im Gewölk gleicht dem HERRN, ist dem HERRN ähnlich unter den Söhnen der Götter?
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
Gewaltig ist Gott im Rat der Heiligen, für alle rings um ihn her ist er groß und furchtbar.
O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
HERR, Gott der Heerscharen, wer ist wie du? Mächtig bist du, HERR, und von Treue umgeben.
Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
Du beherrschst den Aufruhr des Meeres; wenn seine Wogen toben — du glättest sie.
Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
Rahab hast du durchbohrt und zertreten, deine Feinde zerstreut mit starkem Arm.
The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
Dein ist der Himmel, dein auch die Erde; den Erdkreis und was ihn erfüllt hast du gegründet.
The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
Nord und Süd hast du geschaffen, Tabor und Hermon jauchzen bei deinem Namen.
Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
Dein Arm ist voll Heldenkraft, deine Hand ist stark, deine Rechte hoch erhoben.
Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Recht und Gerechtigkeit sind die Stützen deines Thrones, Huld und Treue schreiten dir entgegen.
Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
Selig das Volk, das den Jubelruf kennt, HERR, sie gehen im Licht deines Angesichts.
In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
Sie freuen sich allezeit über deinen Namen und sie jubeln über deine Gerechtigkeit.
For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
Denn du bist ihre Schönheit und Stärke, du erhöhst unsre Kraft in deiner Güte.
For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
Ja, dem HERRN gehört unser Schild, dem Heiligen Israels unser König.
Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
Einst hast du in einer Vision zu deinen Frommen gesprochen: Einem Helden habe ich Hilfe gewährt, einen jungen Mann aus dem Volk erhöht.
I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
Ich habe David, meinen Knecht, gefunden und ihn mit meinem heiligen Öl gesalbt.
With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
Fest wird meine Hand ihn halten und mein Arm ihn stärken.
The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
Kein Feind soll ihn täuschen, kein ruchloser Mensch kann ihn bezwingen.
And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
Vor ihm will ich seine Feinde zerschmettern und alle, die ihn hassen, schlage ich nieder.
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Meine Treue und meine Huld sind mit ihm und in meinem Namen erhebt er sein Haupt.
I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Ich lege seine Hand auf das Meer und auf die Ströme seine Rechte.
He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Er wird zu mir rufen: Mein Vater bist du, mein Gott, der Fels meiner Rettung.
Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
Ja, zum Erstgeborenen mache ich ihn, zum Höchsten unter den Königen der Erde.
My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
Auf ewig werde ich ihm meine Huld bewahren, mein Bund mit ihm ist verlässlich.
His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Sein Haus lasse ich dauern für immer und seinen Thron wie die Tage des Himmels.
If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
Wenn seine Söhne meine Weisung verlassen, nicht mehr leben nach meiner Ordnung,
If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
wenn sie meine Gesetze entweihen, meine Gebote nicht mehr halten,
Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
dann werde ich ihr Vergehen mit der Rute strafen und ihre Sünde mit Schlägen.
Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
Doch ich entziehe ihm nicht meine Huld, breche ihm nicht die Treue.
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Meinen Bund werde ich nicht entweihen; was meine Lippen gesprochen haben, will ich nicht ändern.
Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
Eines habe ich geschworen bei meiner Heiligkeit, niemals werde ich David belügen:
His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
Sein Haus soll bleiben auf ewig, sein Thron habe Bestand vor mir wie die Sonne;
It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
er soll ewig bestehen wie der Mond, der Zeuge über den Wolken ist verlässlich. [Sela]
But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
Du aber hast verstoßen, verworfen, mit Zorn überschüttet deinen Gesalbten.
Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.
Du hast den Bund mit deinem Knecht zerbrochen, seine Krone entweiht, sie zu Boden geworfen.
Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.
Eingerissen hast du all seine Mauern, in Trümmer gelegt seine Burgen.
All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.
Alle, die des Weges kommen, plünderten ihn aus. Er wurde zum Gespött seiner Nachbarn.
Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
Du hast die Hand seiner Bedränger hoch erhoben, hast all seine Feinde erfreut.
Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
Du hast die Spitze seines Schwerts umgekehrt, hast ihn im Kampf nicht unterstützt.
Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
Du hast ein Ende gemacht seinem Glanz und seinen Thron zu Boden geworfen.
The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.
Du hast ihm die Tage der Jugend verkürzt und ihn umhüllt mit Schande. [Sela]
How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
Wie lange noch, HERR? Verbirgst du dich ewig? Soll dein Zorn wie Feuer brennen?
Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?
Denk doch: Was ist mein Leben! Zu welch nichtigem Leben hast du alle Menschen erschaffen!
What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
Wer ist der Mann, der lebt und den Tod nicht schaut, der sich retten kann vor dem Zugriff der Totenwelt? [Sela]
Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?
Wo sind die Taten deiner früheren Huld, HERR, die du David in deiner Treue geschworen hast?
Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
HERR, gedenke der Schmach deiner Knechte, im Innern brennt mir der Hohn der Völker.
Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
