Und zu Jerusalem wohnten etliche der Kinder Juda, etliche der Kinder Benjamin, etliche der Kinder Ephraim und Manasse:
Some of the sons of Judah, of the sons of Benjamin and of the sons of Ephraim and Manasseh lived in Jerusalem:
nämlich aus den Kindern des Perez, des Sohnes Juda’s, war Uthai, der Sohn Ammihuds, des Sohnes Omris, des Sohnes Imris, des Sohnes Banis,
Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, from the sons of Perez the son of Judah.
von den Selanitern aber Asaja, der erste Sohn, und seine Söhne,
From the Shilonites were Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

From the sons of Zerah were Jeuel and their relatives, 690 of them.
von den Kindern Benjamin: Sallu, der Sohn Mesullams, des Sohnes Hodavjas, des Sohnes Hasnuas,
From the sons of Benjamin were Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah,
und Jibneja, der Sohn Jerohams, und Ela, der Sohn Usis, des Sohnes Michris, und Mesullam, der Sohn Sephatjas, des Sohnes Reguels, des Sohnes Jibnejas,
and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
dazu ihre Brüder in ihren Geschlechtern, 956. Alle diese Männer waren Häupter in ihren Vaterhäusern.
and their relatives according to their generations, 956. All these were heads of fathers’ households according to their fathers’ houses.

From the priests were Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jachin,
und Asarja, der Sohn Hilkias, des Sohnes Mesullams, des Sohnes Zadoks, des Sohnes Merajoths, des Sohnes Ahitobs, ein Fürst im Hause Gottes,
and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the chief officer of the house of God;
und Adaja, der Sohn Jerohams, des Sohnes Pashurs, des Sohnes Malchias, und Maesai, der Sohn Abdiels, des Sohnes Jahseras, des Sohnes Mesullams, des Sohnes Mesillemiths, des Sohnes Immers,
and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
dazu ihre Brüder, Häupter ihrer Vaterhäuser, 1760, tüchtige Leute im Geschäft des Amtes im Hause Gottes.
and their relatives, heads of their fathers’ households, 1,760 very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

und Obadja, der Sohn Semajas, des Sohnes Galals, des Sohnes Jeduthuns, und Berechja, der Sohn Asas, des Sohnes Elkanas, der in den Dörfern der Netophathiter wohnte.
and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent; and their fathers had been over the camp of the LORD, keepers of the entrance.
Pinehas aber, der Sohn Eleasars, war vorzeiten Fürst über sie, darum daß der HERR mit ihm gewesen war.

All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were 212. These were enrolled by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their office of trust.
daß sie und ihre Kinder hüten sollten die Tore am Hause des HERRN, nämlich an dem Hause der Hütte, daß sie sein warteten.
So they and their sons had charge of the gates of the house of the LORD, even the house of the tent, as guards.
Es waren aber solche Torwächter gegen die vier Winde gestellt: gegen Morgen, gegen Abend, gegen Mitternacht, gegen Mittag.
The gatekeepers were on the four sides, to the east, west, north and south.
Ihre Brüder aber waren auf ihren Dörfern, daß sie hereinkämen allezeit je des siebenten Tages, bei ihnen zu sein.
Their relatives in their villages were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them;
Denn auf Glauben waren diese die vier obersten Torhüter. Und die Leviten waren über die Kammern und Schätze im Hause Gottes.
for the four chief gatekeepers who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God.
Auch blieben sie über Nacht um das Haus Gottes; denn es gebührte ihnen die Hut, daß sie alle Morgen auftäten.
They spent the night around the house of God, because the watch was committed to them; and they were in charge of opening it morning by morning.
Und etliche aus ihnen waren über das Gerät des Amts; denn sie trugen’s gezählt aus und ein.
Now some of them had charge of the utensils of service, for they counted them when they brought them in and when they took them out.
Und ihrer etliche waren bestellt über die Gefäße und über alles heilige Gerät, über Semmelmehl, über Wein, über Öl, über Weihrauch, über Spezereien.
Some of them also were appointed over the furniture and over all the utensils of the sanctuary and over the fine flour and the wine and the oil and the frankincense and the spices.
Aber der Priester Kinder machten etliche das Salböl mit Spezereien.
Some of the sons of the priests prepared the mixing of the spices.
Und Matthithja, aus den Leviten, dem ersten Sohn Sallums, des Korahiters, waren vertraut die Pfannen.
Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the responsibility over the things which were baked in pans.
Aus den Kahathitern aber, ihren Brüdern, waren etliche über die Schaubrote, sie zuzurichten auf alle Sabbate.
Some of their relatives of the sons of the Kohathites were over the showbread to prepare it every sabbath.
Jene aber sind die Sänger, die Häupter der Vaterhäuser der Leviten, die in den Kammern keinen Dienst hatten; denn Tag und Nacht waren sie in ihrem Geschäft.
Now these are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the chambers of the temple free from other service; for they were engaged in their work day and night.
Das sind die Häupter der Vaterhäuser unter den Leviten in ihren Geschlechtern. Diese wohnten zu Jerusalem.
These were heads of fathers’ households of the Levites according to their generations, chief men, who lived in Jerusalem.

Ancestry and Descendants of Saul
In Gibeon Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived, and his wife’s name was Maacah,
und sein erster Sohn Abdon, Zur, Kis, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
and his firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
Mikloth aber zeugte Simeam. Und sie wohnten auch ihren Brüdern gegenüber zu Jerusalem unter den Ihren.
Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. And they also lived with their relatives in Jerusalem opposite their other relatives.
Ner aber zeugte Kis. Kis zeugte Saul. Saul zeugte Jonathan, Malchisua, Abinadab, Esbaal.
Ner became the father of Kish, and Kish became the father of Saul, and Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab and Eshbaal.
Der Sohn aber Jonathans war Merib–Baal. Merib–Baal aber zeugte Micha.
The son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal became the father of Micah.
Die Kinder Michas waren: Pithon, Melech und Tharea.
The sons of Micah were Pithon, Melech, Tahrea and Ahaz.
Ahas zeugte Jaera. Jaera zeugte Alemeth, Asmaveth und Simri. Simri zeugte Moza.
Ahaz became the father of Jarah, and Jarah became the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri; and Zimri became the father of Moza,
Moza zeugte Binea; des Sohn war Raphaja; des Sohn war Eleasa; des Sohn war Azel.
and Moza became the father of Binea and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
